I read that on Yahoo News. I love reading the comments left by people.

Some guy wrote "The experimental Segchute failed to deploy."

LOL!

The tailor who invented the parachute, Franz Reichelt, died from his invention too in 1912.
He got permission from civil authorities to test the parachute by jumping off the Eifel Tower in Paris.

He was going to test it using a dummy; but, changed his mind at the last second because he thought it was infallible and he ended up falling with a heavy thud to the earth.

Actually Da Vinci invented the parachute. He just never got around to building it, though a skydiver tested a replica of the design jumping from 3000 meteres off a hot air baloon. He described the decent as smoother than a modern parachute, though it was a bit faster.

Ben Cohen, of Ben & Jerrys, may be on the list soon--he's already had a quadruple bypass likely as a result of his daily consumption of ice cream.

I wonder how many tobacco execs have died of lung cancer.

I'm impressed that Segway is able to build off-road transporters, it's still an amazing invention and has a lot of potential in many applications.
