scientists are worried about a surprisingly cold ‘blob’ in the North Atlantic Ocean

It's not "dropping", fool.

The temperature anomaly was never above 0.7 degrees C. The global temperature anomaly is the number in the left-hand column in your table, doofus. It is currently 0.692 degrees C.
Here, remember this?
Q. What periods do you use for your baseline when computing anomalies?
A. We use a variety of base lines. The 1961-90 period is most often used because it is the period recommended by the WMO (World Meteorological Organisation). This period is also used for UK data so that information for the UK is directly comparable to data from other parts of the world.

Now, take a look at this:

Are you ready to bet whether HadCRUT4 is showing cooling or warming this year?

I'm not sure about September, but we know the NOAA doesn't have numbers for October, November or December 2015. Yet you were quite happy to settle up now if we agreed to "change the terms of the bet" to include the NOAA's numbers.

Cluck, cluck, cluck.
Speaking of chicken imitations, are you still backing this claim that HadCRUT 4 shows a decline in global temperatures this year?
Going to take a bet on this claim, or are you chicken?

cluck cluck yourself.

You may want to try looking up the word "facetious" regarding the statement about how the current anomaly was a dramatic "drop" from your fairy-tale numbers.

As for your proposed bet, if you really want to bet on whether or not 0.692 is less than 0.7, I'll take the bet.

Confirm that you're betting that 0.692 is greater than 0.7 and the bet is on.

According to your figures, the temperature anomaly for the entire year dropped from more than 0.8 degrees (https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...ng-Scientist&p=5339893&viewfull=1#post5339893) to less than 0.7 degrees in just one month. The temperature is either dropping so fast that we're headed towards another ice age, or you were wrong.

Looking at the two quotes above, is there anyone who doesn't think Frankfooter is functionally illiterate?

The bet should be on this claim of yours, that you think the temperature anomaly dropped from 0.8º to 0.7º in one month, from August to September 2015 according to HadCRUD 4.4.0.

Interested?

Considering that the bet was whether the global anomaly would make it to 0.83ºC by the end of 2015, its no wonder you want to settle now, when the anomaly is at 0.82ºC and there are still 4 months of reports coming in.

You keep wanting to settle early because you know you are losing.

LOL. So, now you're saying I'm the one who claimed the HadCRUT4 temperature anomaly as of the end of July was over 0.8 degrees C???

I don't think so.

Wrong again.

The HadCRUT number so far for 2015 is 0.68 degrees Celsius. Still nowhere near the IPCC's predictions.

The 0.8 degrees C figure was your fairy-tale number (https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...ng-Scientist&p=5339893&viewfull=1#post5339893).

I was using the updated graph from Oct. 1 to confirm that you were completely wrong.

Nonsense.

You keep claiming the IPCC got it right. But you refuse to accept what you see in the graphs (including graphs produced by your sources) and you don't know how to read tables. I'm not going to waste any more time trying to teach you how to read a graph.

Settling the bet will determine the matter once and for all. If you want to convince me that the IPCC got it right, let's settle up.

The bet was for an anomaly of 0.83ºC for the full year of 2015, and with the global anomaly rising all year long and now hitting 0.82ºC with four months to go its quite obvious why you keep trying to settle.
We are within 0.01ºC of you losing.

If the anomaly goes up to 0.83ºC for the year to date in a week and a bit when they release Oct's numbers, will you still be willing to settle early?

Sorry, you don't get an open-ended option. If you want to settle up at the end of October, that's fine with me.

But it's unconditional. If I commit to settling at the end of October, you have to make the same commitment.

Yes or no: Do you want to settle at the end of October?

I'm quite content to add another 4 months of data to the numbers and let the bet end at the wagered term.
It'll just give me a few more months of taunting you with charts like this:

Another chart showing the IPCC has been spectacularly accurate.

Cluck, cluck, cluck.

The big talker was happy to muse about settling the bet in October. But as soon as I challenged him to make the same commitment he wanted from me, he scurried under the blankets.

He can run ... but he can't hide forever.

Hide?

I'll be right here until the end of the year, which is when the bet comes to term, posting more graphs and data, and catching you at your nonsense.

The bet is 0.83ºC and year to date is 0.82ºC according to NASA.

You gotta admit, the IPCC's projections were spot on.
