Schedule posting area

CMJ

I understand that Fred wants to clean up the boards by including a seperate area for advertisers to post, however - we aren't getting as many hits being hid away in another area... usually we have 100's of hits after the 2-3rd day of having posted our infamous "this week'sschedule now posted" threads, but now after 3 days we only have 60 hits.

Is there anything or anyway for Fred to rectify this? Is the Ottawa section really that busy where we need a seperate area like Toronto?

Are any other ladies having this problem?

I can't speak for the ladies but I know I haven't really liked the change to a separate "Ottawa/Kingston TERB Advertisers Forum". I preferred it when posts such as CMJ's notices of schedule updates were posted with all the other posts in the Ottawa/Kingston area. I tend to just not visit the separate Forum as often. I suspect I'm not alone. Perhaps the Mod would consider doing a poll on whether the Advertisers Forum should be reintegrated into the general forum.

I have to agree. I generally visit this area.

I had absolutely no idea that the "advertiser's forum" was for a typical visitor like myself. I thought it was an area for the advertisers to get together to discuss advertising. Now that I know different, I still wouldn't bother. I don't have the time or inclination to wander around different parts of the site. I can't see the point, really.

I didn't know the advertisers section was there and I really can't see the need for it. I didn't realize there were that many people advertising when it wasn't there. I won't be checking it in the future.

The new ad forum is not pointed directly at Ottawa, but the entire board, all areas now have seperate advertisers sections. Toronto section has had the advert forum for several years, a few of the other areas already had advert forums for some years.
The ad forums were implememted to keep the advertising threads just that,,advertising
The Mods & Fred felt it better serves TERB , the users & the advertisers, The advertiing doesn't get intertwined with the reviews & vice versa

Not too many posts here that people would get confused - I actually liked having the ads intertwined.

At first it seemed odd but if you're in a hurry and just want to hit the ads it's useful. I'm guessing that once everyone is used to it, things will be fine. Like most things there is a normal adjustment period. It's not that hard to click the link.

not to go against CMJ at all...God forbid.....but the advertising section is within the ottawa/kingston forum base.......it is just going to take some adjustment for people to click on the advertisers link at the top of our areas section.....

As little as Jasmin did post...I did find all the other advertisers notices beginning to cluttler our happy little ottawa section.....

i also wont be navigating around to find another area to look at.

If it is not in the area then I assume it does not exist.

Geez folks, its a simple forum added to the top of the review sections for each area... not at all difficult to navigate.
Everyone has their own opinions, and rightfully so, but I like the split forums (we've had it in Niagara for several years...);)

I think it's a matter that could be resolved if she sent out automated reminders to her members that the new schedule has been posted. I don't believe that non members can view the schedule just the same.

This is a review board, if an agency, or a particular SP or MA wants to draw attention to a special event, or, schedule then that is news, otherwise let her re-use a previous post and add to it instead of creating a new one every week!

I also don't like the new format and agree with CMJ. Hopefully with time everyone will know to look here for the announcements. There was a time when Toronto didn't have its own advertiser area. When it first started it was dead. Now its so busy you have to leave the section to change your mind.

Thanks
