Actually, I buy a lady a drink when I'm having a conversation with her. Yes, sometimes it DOES include the weather and at times it DOES include what her favourite hobbies are! But many many times it's about life in general, her family, her work, her dreams, her aspirations, her future, her likes, her fears, her dislikes, places she's travelled to, places she would like to travel to...something guys with small, shallow, immature, pea sized brains would never understand. The same "men" who have absolutely no idea how and why the word "gentleman" is used. The same "men" who's sole purpose in spending more than a nickel on women is to fuck them, ya guys your mothers would be very proud of their sons! Carry on "gentlemen"!
I notice this was written on April 1st - I can only assume nobody is this much a douche in real life. Since when has deciding not to buy a girl a drink within moments upon meeting her a douchebag, prick, or asshole thing to do? As a true man, I do things that I wish to do, and if choosing not to buy her a drink is my decision, it shouldn't affect you either way. It is my decision not to because I don't even know her, sure maybe upon an hour of conversing that may change depending if I like her and sensing she may do the same for me at a later time of the evening. I had only hoped this thread would save people a few bucks by being more social and having more fun in the real world, not depending on the hobby industry. I have nothing against this industry at all, heck I have spent a few bucks here and there, who here hasn't? Fuck I even got a regular I see from time to time, we have great passionate sex and we could talk for hours upon hours. LS, don't be surprised that a vast majority of guys on this board display anger and animosity when it comes to the topic of How to talk to Women. Most men can't whether they be on this board or not. Sorry to say this but you really seem to be bitter. From your above posts I sense so much hatred toward the "pick up scene". It's almost as you tried doing it but perhaps didn't have the best luck at it and gave up because your ego couldn't take the rejections that come from the "game" (don't take rejections personally). You make it sound like pick up artists are scumbags that spend phew seconds talking to a girl and if she isn't down to fuck right away they humiliate her (of course some guys are like this). Also, the whole drink think has been interpreted in a negative light and depicting people who don't buy drinks right away as being cheap douche-bags. From what I gather, don't just buy the girl a drink because she gave you 10 seconds of attention because she is using you... and lots of guys get taken advantage of. Sometimes a woman's brain is much more attractive than the rest of her. I might sound immature or dumb but no matter how hot a woman is, if she cannot hold a pleasant conversation for a few minutes I absolutely lose interest. My decision last year was to remain single and not date until I had accomplished something (very stupid and trivial for most but a huge barrier for me), I have had several opportunities to "pick-up", for instance at a wedding where some of the bridesmaids were clearly showing interest and all I did was chat up the cool groom's sister, who I knew, 30 seconds into talking to her, that she was extremely religious and her panties would never come off unless I gave her the ring. I did find her physically pleasant looking, however I did actually enjoy a 2 hour conversation with her about traveling, goals and ambitions, photography etc... It's been 4 months and we are now fairly close buddies. Could I have fucked one of the hot bridesmaids? Without a doubt; Would I do anything different? Not a chance.

Not buying a girl a drink isn't being a douchebag. Keeping track and bragging that you don't buy any girl a drink as if it is some measure of manhood is being a douchbag. (I apologize - if the reason you haven't bought a girl a drink is that they don't want anything to do with you - i.e.: This post is an admission that you lack the basic social skills to meet women. I meet women and some very beautiful professionals but I don't evaluate the encounter a failure if they haven't dropped to their knees and gave me head when we part company for the evening. Oddly enough, I find I can enjoy the company of good looking women without making it a sexual conquest. I'm guessing that if you have no problem satisfying your sexual desires, you can enjoy the company of hot women for reasons other than conquest. I would suggest that your ability to treat hot chicks as fellow human beings even enhances you chances for playful encounters if you both reach a level of comfort. (My experience)
For those who think all terb members are here because they can't get nice looking girls, I beg to differ. Some of us are in relationships and Terb (hobbying) gives us a means to indulge ourselves without jeopardizing our relationships nor causing a sensitive girl an emotional let down or misunderstanding. Obviously, my problem with the whole thing is all about my inability to take rejection, and has naught to do the shitty and dehumanizing attitude towards women that is an integral and necessary part of the whole scene.
