The King is Dead (Harold Ramis), long live The King (Seth Rogen).

So much for Ed Norton being difficult to work with, his output since 2012 shitcans that theory. My guess is after The Incredible Hulk, he figured out that he wasn't an all conquering demigod.

Will Smith invented oxygen!

I wasn't buying it.

Edward Norton is made of teflon. He's so outrageously talented that no negative label could could stick to him.

Kathleen allow me to give you some background.

Hubris became Edward Norton's mistress. When you get praise from actors like Robert De Niro and Marlon Brando, more than likely your heads swells to the size of the Goodrich Blimp. The caveat is he didn't have much chemistry with them. When he was cast as The Incredible Hulk, he wanted creative control. He was right TIH, for all it's technical wizardry it was a very bland film. It got clobbered at the box-office by The Dark Knight and Marvel fired Norton. Instead of sitting and fuming, Norton adapted. He's done some stellar comic work, his reputation has been repaired.

You could see it coming Norton is a shy man offset, he doesn't have Robert Downey Jr's charm offensive. He was playing himself in Birdman.

In the end it worked out well for both Norton and Marvel. Marvel have built a solid formula, while DC without Christopher Nolan has floundered.

It also happened to HBO when they cancelled Lucky Louie but it hasn't worked out so well for them. For his next project Louis CK was willing to take less money for creative control, Fox Entertainment (soon to become FX) gave it to him. The result was Louie, the show that made FX legit. Now FX is on a hot streak with shows like American Horror Story, Fargo and The Americans, HBO doesn't have much beyond Game of Thrones.

Louis CK isn't in a rush to make another Season of Louie, but with creative control he gave them moments of absolute genius:

Now that HBO has lost the North American distribution rights for Taboo to FX. How long before they lose their premium subscription rights.

Looks wise, Norton is the perfect Bruce Banner. Not to slight Ruffalo, he's been great in the role and I hope that Marvel rethinks the decision to do more solo Hulk movies but in terms of appearance, Norton was the ideal Banner.

As an aside about Sausage Party, am I not the only one who's waiting for some idiot parent to try to take their kids to it, despite the constant reminder that the movie is rated R?

Edward Norton is getting praise from critics for his role as one of The Four Sausages of the Apocalypse! He's becoming the David Bowie of actors - expect the unexpected.

The first rule of Sausage Party is that you don't talk about Sausage Party!

So I got the chance to watch this film.

I don't understand why so many people are offended by this film, there was nothing outrageously gross in it. Edward Norton played a bagel not a sausage. His Woody Allen impersonation was spot on and his repartee with David Krumholtz (Triumph the Insult Dog) as an Arab pita, was flat out hilarious. The movie is often side-splitting, Rogen's strongest effort in a while. But I hope he has it in him to make another film like 50/50.
