I heard this week there's going to be a huge blitz on all providers. (expressvu also!)
A couple of months ago, Bell sent out new cards for all existing users of their service, as of May 30, all older cards will be blocked..

They jumped the gun on my card, cancelled it in the last week of March so I had to scramble to get set up with my new one.
Bell ExpressVu has a little known feature, you can have up to 6 machines and cards on one account. I've been doing this for 3 years. They only need to be set up from the original phone number, after that they can be distributed among your friends and family. This is meant to be for your various bedrooms and rec rooms but works fine in different cities.
Split 6 ways, I don't mind paying that kind of bill.

I guess you never heard of there new location ID test. If you don’t have all the receivers connected to the same phone line they will call you up, ask you to turn on each TV in your house and read to them the location ID number. This is a number they will send to each receiver that will be unique for each receiver when they call. If you don’t have all the receivers in your house you then can’t tell them what all the location ID numbers are… then they will turn off all the receivers you can’t provide location ID’s for. Good luck with your plan… don’t worry they thought of it too… not going to work very long they way you planned

I thought it was cool if you had a card for your cottage though...... or a city house and a country house .........

That's why I had to scramble when the new cards came, we had to get all 6 receivers together and hook them up to the phone line that is being billed.
We could only get 5 together due to circumstances and the 6th was done later, Bell was cool with it.
For the last 3 years, none have been connected continuously to the phone line, just for the setup. No problems.

Spoke to Bell Expressvu

I don't a telephone connection in my TV room - wireless phone system with VOIP. They didn't hassle me at all. Just thanked me for my time and said to call if I had any problems.

I have three expressvu units.. One at Home on in the trailer and one at my parents. No problems yet.

I've never connected my Express Vu to a phone line and never will. It has not created any problems and no one from the company has inquired.

Just tell them if they want to pay for the extra phone jacks in every room, then you'll plug them in. They will not bother you about it.
