Mala - Alicia

Sample: Alicia Keys - Feeling U, Feeling Me (Interlude)

This one is kind of a cheat as he explains the sample before the tune drops

Lupe Fiasco - Tilted in Any Colour You Like

Sample: Pink Floyd - Any Colour You Like

This will have to do for now but I've got more. Lots more 😆

Bud Benderbe's cover of VU's All Tomorrow's Partys

and The Black Angel's Death Song

He also did a wild and weird version of VU's There She Goes, but it's not on YouTube.

I’m starting to get the sense that R&B singers were the first to do every song, ever.
Yeah they were usually great.

But they were easy pickins' for covers as they got so little white radio play until the mid-1960's at the earliest, unless they were amazing.

the Moody Blues version is "fuller", while Bessie has more "soul"

They were. But they never owned the songs, so the producers / labels / song owners allowed others to record to get more airplay / royalties.
The music biz is NOT for the faint of heart.
