Not my type of music but I think he did a great job to make this original and his own. The original is basically flawless so for MM to make it equal says a lot.

I used to listen to Manson’s Smells Like Children in my room when I was a kid. Headphones on. Parents would not approve. Great album. His cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkin’s “I Put a Spell on You” is also rad:

Fun story: I used to listen to Tool. I was very arrogant about it. One day, this guy schooled me on my music knowledge and as I was spouting off about how “Tool is the best band in the world with four of the best musicians,” he just rolled his eyes and told me to go listen to Prince and shut up.
I was like, “Prince. Psh. Yeah right.”
Then I went home and listened to Prince. You ever been embarrassed while sitting alone in your room? That was me.
I’m not a fan of Tool anymore. I adore Prince.
And arguably the greatest cover of all-time. It broke records and set the bar for vocals.
Do any of you know who Jonathan Young is? He got famous on YouTube for doing heavy metal covers of Disney villain songs (he's got a very very deep voice), but all his covers are amazing.
Marilyn Manson's covers are excellent as well; he lens everything a spooky, foreboding melancholy. I just wish I could still enjoy his music!

Yeah, Manson is a basket case and somehow went from liberal evangelist to full-on maga conspiracist. I blame copious amounts of weird Victorian narcotics over many many years.
