This is so horrible.
These women were just trying to make a living like everyone else.

My thoughts and prayers.

Between a rock and a hard place
Obviously this was not the work of a lone person. In fact, dare I say it here, this looks like an inside job. I mean how could it be a client or even an intruder. Who could go into a spa and subdue and abduct multiple attendants without anyone else in the spa or around the property noticing? There was no report of witnesses.

Maybe there were no other customers at the time . I believe 1 person with a gun could abduct several people.

This does not look like inside job. too obvious.

By reading the story, it sounds like a person, or persons were scoping the place out. It sounds to me like the owner found blood and called the police and informed them what he had found and that he could not get a hold of his employees. It sounds like the culprit or culprits moved in at closing or very near to it on Saturday. It is obviously a terrible tragedy and maybe robbery gone too far. Why not just take the money and run. I do not understand the need to kill for it! leads me to believe that something else happened, like resistance or someone was recognized, maybe a client. At any rate my heart goes out to those that were lost, and the families. There is just way to much violence against sex workers and it has to stop. The good thing is this hobby is like a close knit circle. The prick or pricks who did this will not be able to hide!!!

Let us observe a moment of silence and reflect on the loss of life of those who brought comfort and some happiness to those in need. As TERBites, what can we do to console and comfort the family members and friends who are left behind?

What did these MPAs do to desrve this terrible end that no one deserves? They were some one's sister, aunt, daughter, girlfriend, mother, etc. Let us always remember that women are the custodians of life, and to love an drespect each and every one fo them.

It also makes you wonder about how, in some places, it is legal to have a gun, but not legal to 'make love'.

Drug deal gone sour...who wants to bet me money?

Robbery? Please...much easier ways to get something like that done.

Most MP's are fronts...look at the places...they are run down, hardly anyone goes...yet they manage to pay the rent and stay open all the time...why?

Same post as another board:

Personal Safety and Self-Defence

There is no way to completely defend from a truly violent attack with weapons, but some preparation may help, since most problems aren't that severe.

I truly hope that all women working in the trade will take the time to find a WenDo class. The City used to offer it, and probably still does. It can aslo be found at community centres, etc. If you can't find one, grab a group of 6 or 8 and hire them to come to you. If you work at an agency, perhaps this might be a suggestion.

WenDo is self-defence designed specifically for women. It is quite empowering to know what you can and cannot do.

WenDo classes will show you special moves effective for women's smaller frames. And practice. And every woman will break a 1 inch board before the class ends.

The first and best defence is to stay calm and try to talk your way out of it and to a safe location. I was once followed in my car, I drove to the police station.

Good Luck

More updated news today.

The occupants were Two females [ mpas?] and one male, the owner of the SUV. My gut tells me, Asian gang. looking for cash at closing time. They rounded them up, got the $$$, killed them and then moved them up the road. But then the 10 detectives on the case probably already have that figured out.

I wouldn't want to be working/own a place in Markham right now.

Be careful people.

Krav MagA is an Isreali self defence art.

as well as being good exercise, it could be useful in keeping the integrity of ones body intact as well.

strongly recommend that people consider taking this rather pragmatic martial art.

be safe, be warm, be yourself.

I don't mean to argue with people who take these martial arts courses, but I believe that martial arts would not have helped in this particular case. Jean Claude van Dam plays fictional characters who can leap 15 feet before his attacker can fire off a shot. Does not happen like this in the real world, and I am just assuming that guns were used in this case because the attackers managed to take the lives of three people without what appears to be without so much as a hiccup. Martial arts and self defense are only practical in close proximity altercations. That's it, and anyone thinking otherwise is deluding themselves. what I think is that the government of this country has too tight a leash on us canadians. There needs to be some loosening of legal gun ownership and carrying laws. They won't even allow us to use aerosol sprays like pepper spray or mace without the risk of being charged while defending yourself. It is like the police and government are saying you have the right to live until someone, just any scumbag decides otherwise! I do not subscribe to that belief and I could care less about what Le and the gov say. None of these bastards has the right to harm me, my family, or others that I care about. My tip to ladies in this biz. Forget martial arts and self defenseas your soul method of defending yourself. Believe me, I have degrees and it is only good for close encounters and exerciseand confidence. Get yourself somethin that you can fire from 15 feet away. I would not suggest a gun, because people often can freeze when considering firing a gun because the finality of it all makes decent people think twice. How about a tazer, or aerosol spray. Not deadly, but packs hell of a punch, and I have yet to see someone not drop when used against them.

I'm in total agreement . these people were out to kill.
Bruce Lee himself wouldn't have a chance against the proverbial 90 lb weekling with a gun.

There are so many ways to rob a place without killing EVERYONE on the scene. The perpetrators (2 or more) either have unsatiable blood lust, or veteran killers.

First time accidental killers would have fled after the first kill and would not have the wit to move the body elsewhere.

The attackers definitely have murder in mind.

Facts:

1. There are 3 victims (two co-workers and a friend)
2. 3 vehicles found (the SUV belonging to the male friend)
3. Crime took place near closing time.
4. Bodies were placed in the SUV driven 14 km away and then left at a church.

I think one of the lady worker knew she would be a target and asked her male friend to watch out for her. Both were attacked the other co-worker may have been an innocent bystander. At least one of the victims were shot and possibly killed at the spa (likely the male friend).

One of the attackers drove the SUV to the church (if all the victims were already dead), more than one attacker in the SUV if at least one victim was still alive. Any surviving victims would have been killed en-route to or on church property.

An accomplice followed behind the SUV in another vehicle. The attackers then left the SUV and drove away in the other vehicle.

I agree most martial arts training won't do much against an armed attacker. Breaking boards is silly and gives a false sense of confidence. Either don't be put in a dangerous situation or carry a weapon. The only kind of self defence training that is useful is focussed on psychology, situational awareness eg. www.tonyblauer.com

as for the slayings i am ssing it was a gang hit on the owner of the place (probably the male) and they took out the girls so they wouldn't be witnesses

I agree they were out to kill. If/when they get caught I wonder how much time they will get .
