Russia is closed now to most foreigners entering, even the migrant workers have a problem getting home to the eastern parts. Plus the number of Covid cases is in question and you are visiting a major city.
In terms of the eastern countries that would depend on which one as they are also closing borders.
Nows not the time to travel or to indulge, it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Well, I can only vouch for Prague, my beloved city.Hey guys Planning an trip to either Russia or one of the eastern block country's. Looking for a good mix of things to do and mongering.

The second city I would opt for would be Budapest.
