Yes, it is pretty incredible that someone could not distinguish the differences between the shortly-after the event third-party witness statements in the Russell Brand trial versus the Cornell 7. This victim made statements to friends, family and medical workers consistent with rape. Not texts to the alleged rapist reminiscing about snorting drugs off of his cock. For some of us, facts do still matter, even in a post-fact world. And Russell’s criminal case is not in the U.S., where so many high-profile criminal cases are just there to support a multi-million dollar civil case. Unless the defense shows a strong rebuttal to these witness statements, I am hoping Russell is found guilty.

I don't know if Brand is guilty or not but I do have a problem with the fact that none of these ladies reported the incidents to authorities until decades later.

People should voice and/or video record if they can to put rapists behind bars for good since typically hard evidence is needed otherwise it's a matter of he/she said. Sad, but that's reality.

The analysis mentions the U.K. criminal trial and the U.S. civil case against Russell. No mention of a U.K. civil case. Maybe that country has some respect and decency for its criminal law system and doesn’t allow cross contamination like the U.S. does.

When big money is involved in U.S. cases, you can never know what the real facts are. If the U.S. ever enacts Tort Reform, that might change. But that will never likely happen
