So later in August this immigrant girl I'm dating has a week off work. I am thinking of throwing a couple of vacation days against the end of a weekend and perhaps taking her away somewhere. Only problem is that her visa status in Canada means that we would not be able to cross the border.

So where would be a nice destination for 4-5 days in August for two?

Preferably flying. To pull this off I really shouldn't stay within driving distance of Toronto, that's too risky.

You can't beat Montreal! Excellent food, interesting sights. Good hotels.

BTW: What part of the world is she from? That might help with a choice.

If you have the budget you could do Calgary car rental Banff for three days. Flight time is about three and half hours if I recollect.

I'm not sure why you keep labelling her as an "immigrant girl" even if she is recently arrived. Just identifying her as a girl or girl friend is enough. Also, there is no need to mention you are having her cook an "ethnic meal", just having dinner is explanation enough.

You seem to be trying too hard to make a point for some reason.

Niagara Falls one of the wonders of the world.
That time of year there will be so many tourists it will appear more cosmopolitan than TO....

A know-it-all genius must know numerous places to go and there was no need to mention who he is going with.

Actually, I suppose there is a need.

The fact that she's on a visa and can't cross the border is kind of directly relevant to this post topic...

It's also sort of useful to distinguish her from the other girl that I have previously called "my girlfriend" on terb.

Anyway, MTL and Quebec City got my votes.
I'm not so sure about MTL as a romantic destination. More like party town. Quebec might be better. I like the Banff suggestion. She has some cousin or aunt or something living in the prairie's somewhere that might kind of link up. I will go refresh my memory as to where that relative lives and see if we could link up for a visit on the way to Banff or something.

What about the maritimes? Anything going there?

Why not just say that she's your latest victim? You already admitted previously how you prey on "immigrant girls".

Two things Fuji...

Tell me how to meet these Immigrant girls!

And Orillia is nice this time of year.....Not risky at all!

St. John's is beautiful that time of year, you can fly out with Porter and the city has a lot of great restaurants and attractions. I've always liked Halifax as well and visit it a little more frequently but it has more of a city feel, St. John's is definitely a different environment and would be a great escape.
A suggestion on a place to stay - http://www.ryanmansion.com

If you want to go west then my vote would be Lake Louise.
