I currently have Rogers Internet, Wireless, and TV and receive a 10% bundling discount from Rogers. The website is a little wonky when it comes to what services make you eligible for a discount (sometimes it says you get 5% with 2 services, sometimes it says 0% with 2 services).

Does anyone receive a 5% bundling discount for having Wireless (Mobile Phone) and TV? I'm thinking of dropping Internet with Rogers and need to know how that will affect my bundling (0% or 5%).

It can be misleading and complicated so I would call them directly and ask the question given your specific services. For example, if you have Pay as You Go for mobile it doesn't apply, etc.

Phone them and just beat them down for more services and better pricing.
They always seem to have room to move with something when they sense a need to keep you as a customer.

here's a hint: if they are giving you a free xbox or smartphone, they are probably going to rip you blind over the 3 three year contract.

Call customer service.

Ask for retention department.

Tell them you want to cancel all service.

When they ask why, say you don't need internet anymore but because you are bundled, it would be cheaper to go else where for TV and phone. That you would stay if they could give you at least a 5% bundle on the remain 2 products.

They will do it.

Cell phone under contract, rogers home phone , cable, internet. 2yr contract. 15% bundle discount.
Remove , services in first year pay back discounts up to $100, 2nd year $50. If you move take the services. If Rogers services not available at new address, your commitment is null and void.

Rogers offer discounts to customers. Go to Redflagdeals.com forum and search for Rogers Retention Thread. It will show you how to get more discounts. As for myself, I was able to get 30% off cable with free pvr rental, 50% off Internet with free modem rental and $10 off phone with one year commitment/contract.
Cheers!!!!

if I remember corrrectly the discounts are for the basic services only. Any extra channels or options on cel service dont apply to discount.
Hardware rentals, channel packages yes, and all internet and basic cell-service.

Video rental, value rogers phone plan and pay per view no.

As mentioned earlier call Rogers and ask for the 'Customer Retention Department'. The regular customer service agent will ask why and may even try to avoid tranfering you, but just tell the tructh and say you are looking at cancelling your service but want to know what is available before you do. The rentention department will offer you the maximum available to them and are very nice to deal with in comparison to the regular CS people.

Discounts and packages vary throughout the year with different promotions, but you can expect anywhere from 5-30% and free equipment for 1 or 2 year commitments depending on the number of services you have. My own bundle recently expired and I spoke to rentention this week and renewed for another year receiving 30% across the board(home phone/cable/internet) free HD-PVR rental, free HiSpeed modem rental. There was no need for negotiation in my situtation, my previous bundle was 20% and they said right now we can do 30%, I said that sounded good, talk again in 12 months and we were done in less than 2 minutes.

You got to fight for it the more you complain the more discount you'll get. Always ask for retention department and complain, complain complain.

You should bargain with them more. I did and got 20% off!

NOTHING is free with rogers... you just need to know that whatever deal they may be giving you, they're probably ripping you off in other ways.

So back to the original question...

Does anyone receive a 5% bundling discount for having Wireless (Mobile Phone) and TV? I'm thinking of dropping Internet with Rogers and need to know how that will affect my bundling (0% or 5%).

p.s., I'm already doing all sorts of other haggling with them but I need to know what the bundling % would otherwise be and I don't want to tip my hand to them by asking.

When it comes to Rogers pricing and discounts believe me when I say there are NO RULES! It is the wild west. Everybody for themselves. Just phone them up and tell them that you are getting pricing from Bell, you are going to bundle all your services and who ever gives you the best prices will get your business. They will switch you over to their retention department and then they will drop their pants. Don't be surprised if they offer you as much as 30-40% off what your paying now. But you should actually give Bell a chance to win your business as they might come up with even a better deal. (they did for me).

I think the concept that there are such things as standard rates for all, which could and should be published is now pretty much a dead donkey. At least when it comes to finite stuff like the cable to your house, or the seat you pay to sit in. The airlines killed it with individual seat pricing, and that's caught on with all sorts of profit-obsessed executives in all sorts of other businesses. Essentially, if the wires are already there, as long as they cover costs, better they should get something from you. No matter how little, it beats zero.

Call Retention. It's cheaper for them to keep you than to persuade me to wire up.
