Burton had one hell of a voice. Put the headphones on for this one, the music quality is stellar.
Saw him back in the day at of all places at Annandale Curling Club in Ajax at a special one man concert and you are right, what a great powerful voice he had. On a side note, Don Harron, aka Charlie Farquarson who bought Annandale and planned to turn it to an entertainment site held a big dance party there and I decided to ask his DDG wife Catherine McKinnon to dance, alas,. she turned me down. LOL. However, the plan was turned down by the Pickering People and the curling and golf club remained open. Now, across the street from Annandale, a large entertainment center is being built including casino, hotel and possibly horse racing.

Growing up in Winnipeg I used to see Burton every weekend at the Holiday Sun & Swim Club playing weekend afternoons poolside with his first band, The Deverons. He was a teenager then, but even that early his voice, piano skills, and general talent were amazing. Later on I saw him several times with the Guess Who. Even played snooker a few times with him at Sportsman's Billiards in the North End. We became friendly if not actual friends.

One time a in the late 60's I was sitting next to Burt at a vocalists' concert in some auditorium in Winnipeg. A young man roughly our age by the name of Herschel Fox did a few songs, and Burt said to me "I wish I had a voice like his". Herschel's voice was more traditionally classical, and in later life he became a renowned Cantor in a large synagogue in Los Angeles...

When I first heard Calling Elvis, I didn't like it. Each time I heard it, it got better and better and better.....

My favourite rock group. Mark Knopfler also recorded a number of solo albums consisting of various genres including a duet LP with Emmy Lou Harris called All The Roadrunning. His voice wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed all of his albums.

Saw this song on an older broadcast of SNL last Saturday night. Not the SNL version, but sounds the same, and great...

Metallica will perform on Kimmel all week. Jimmy asked them which album was the first one they bought, I was expecting Lars to say Rush 2112.

Robert Trujjilo's son Ty played guitar of Stranger Things.
