Goodness Gracious he could sure bang a piano, and a 13year old cousin that he married. LOL.
Saw him years ago at the old Annandale Curling Club in Ajax where he sang a Gordon Lightfoot song imitating Gords singing style, was terrific. He does have one powerful voice.
My interesting Burton Cummings story.
I was friendly with Burton back in the day in Winnipeg. We played snooker sometimes at Sportsman's Billiards, and I saw him perform all the way from his first band, The Deverons, through to when he joined the Guess Who.
Anyways, one day in 1968 or so we were sitting next to each other in the audience at a concert that featured various amateur vocalists. I forget the occasion and the venue. A vocalist we both knew, Herschel Fox, who also had a great but more classical voice, performed, and Burton said to me "Gee I wish I could sing like that!". This from a guy who had one of the best rock voices ever imho.
Herschel ended up being a renowned Cantor at the Valley Beth Shalom synagogue in Encino, California, doing many external concerts as well.
