You could say that metal is noisy but, given the choice between Cipralex and Metal, I choose Metal.

With consent of Steven Spielberg.

Everyone knows Bohemian Rhapsody, but I've always thought "The Prophet's Song" was the better operettic song from A Night at the Opera.

Even though the film isn't entirely accurate, it was very, very good. Rami Malek deserved his Oscar. Of course they dubbed his voice but Malek knew how to play the piano.

Another Toronto bar band that went somewhere
Rush's first LP had a pressing of only 3,500 copies, and the original background behind the dark pink lettering had a light cream colour instead of white. It was released in 1974 by their own publishing company, Moon Records. Mercury Records picked Rush up and re-released the album later that year with the familiar white background. Anyone who owns an original copy with the cream background has a record worth a small fortune if it's in good condition.

I've never been much of an Emerson, Lake and Palmer fan, but "Lucky Man" still ranks somewhere in my favourite 100 rock songs of all time. Greg Lake wrote the lyrics when he was only 10 years old.

I actually had one of those copies in mint condition. I peeled off it's virgin shrink wrap. Moon label. A decade or so ago a buddy at work who was a collector and a musicologist said I could sell it on ebay. Like the idiot I am, I sold it to some guy in Germany for $70.00 No idea why. Didn't need the money. Last time I checked it was selling for around $1500.00. Probably more now. I am sorry.

The Premieres - "Farmer John"

I used to see Neil Young & The Squires do this song at St. John's High School in North Winnipeg back in the day...

The Squires also put out a '45, but all I can find on YouTube is Neil doing it after he became a star.

I always liked this version. Very Mersey beat.

Here's Burton Cummings and his first band, The Deverons.

Obviously "Farmer John" was popular in The 'Peg at the time...
