His most famous song was Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay, written by him and guitarist Steve Cropper who was amongst the best rock guitarists In those times. Too bad Otis was killed in a plane crash later. Interesting story I read why this song ended with Otis whistling was that he could not come up with any lyrics to end it.

my sister and i had tickets to see him him in concert that Dec, but his plane went down Dec 9th if i remember that date correctly....i was 17 when i heard the news and i cried like a baby in my room that night
