It would have been irresponsible for them to omit the allegations of physical abuse, and they did a good honest job of reporting that they were allegations that others disputed.

It is not the Star's job to run a trial and decide who to believe. It's their job to report the facts. Fact is that there are witnesses who say he assaulted the kid, and others who say he didn't and they reported that.

So I am wrong on that part about the Star did not write that Ford assaulted the player. But they did a sloppy job on the investigation on Rob Ford allegedly physical abuse of the football player with so called anomoyous witness (LOL) . They should had interview the football player that was allegedly abused. And if they did their job throughly ..they would have found out the truth and should have printed that in their new paper article. That would have changed the whole content for the new article by presenting a more fair and more accurate picture what really happened. Can you please explain why reporter did not interview the allegedly abused football player?
When anyone print something about abuse on children , people naturally assume the worst. The onus is usually the accused have to prove he is innocence first.

Regardless of whatever happened in this case, there are concerns in general that newspapers rely too often on unnamed sources, who can say pretty much anything they want because they don't have to worry about being held accountable for their comments. It can also be unfair to the political figure being attacked (it usually happens in political stories) because the unnamed source may be someone with an obvious axe to grind, but the politician can't defend himself/herself without knowing who is making the statements.

The names of the sources weren't published, but they were known to the Star and to the school board and no doubt to Ford as well. The school board considered the information worrying enough that it banned Ford from any future participation in its football program.

One of the other players said Ford had his hands around the kids throat, while a parent says he shook and slapped the kid. Though as brainwashed, i mean, PA likes to point out the victim himself later on said he didn't. Many witnesses say Ford went bezerk.
