Fabulous actor. Rest easy Capt. Picard

X-Men

This one really hits hard. I loved him in almost everything he's done and I have really fond memories of watching The Next Generation with the family even to this day. This sucks.

I thought he was going to be terrible as the captain of the enterprise was when i saw the first episode but man did he ever fool me...He was great

I agree. I was so excited when the first episode aired, then when I finally saw Picard all I could think of that they had cast Captain Stubbing from the Love boat in the role!!!

North American audiences were largely introduced to Stewart when PBS re-aired the 12 Part 1976 BBC Miniseries I, Claudius on Masterpiece Theater.

I always wondered what it might have been like if Patrick and Helen Mirren had been between relationships at the same time, if only for a single tryst.

I'm also curious if the TERB sysop creates a hyperlink whenever the word "tryst" appears in a post, like when S and B in caps creates a link to some sugar baby site.(I typed that as two words, to make sure a link did not appear).

Patrick married Sheila Falconer, a civilian, in 1966. They divorced in 1990, probably exacerbated by his affair with Jennifer Hetrick,

who had been his co-star in the memorable 1990 TNG episode Captain's Holiday, (season 3, episode 19).

Jennifer was never cast in the tabloid press as a home wrecker. Most likely Stewart and Falconer's marriage would never have lasted until death do they part. I think a lot of TERB members now feel some additional kinship of a sort with Picard. It's really none of our business what went wrong. The 'to death' vow was a lot easier to keep when people had a life expectancy of 45 years, give or take, and many marriages ended during childbirth.

In Mormon culture, marriages are eternal, even beyond death. Imagine if the two characters from Paradise by the Dashboard Light had been members of that Sect. The concept of eternal damnation for a youthful error in judgement suggests to me that their concept of God is of a Sadist.

Jennifer has aged well,

like Helen Mirren. Today Jennifer looks a lot like what former Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland's

prettier older sister might have looked like. They're both talented, in different ways, and Chrystia would have gotten the beta wingman on double dates, every time.

Chrystia would have had to work harder for her father's approval, because like all men with multiple daughters, he'd know that Jennifer would be most likely to become a younger man's financial burden sooner, and Chrystia would know that she might need to provide for herself after her 'best before' period.

@Insideous Von:

Which of these scenarios is true?

1) You watch YouTube all day when not posting on TERB.

2) You post a link on TERB to every YouTube video you watch, or

3 You post links on TERB to YouTube videos you haven't personally seen, so you can find them more easily if you want to watch them, or

4) You have a monetization deal with Google whereby you earn fractions of a cent every time someone clicks on a link you posted.

I can't think of an option 5.

4) IS technically employment, the kind marketed in some of the ads which split YouTube videos.

To me, that would just be the 2026 version of the guy who posted ads in 1960's men's pulp magazines asking guy's to send 25 cents by mail to a P.O. Box to receive 'French' photographs. The guys who sent the quarters never got the photos, and the cops weren't interested in investigating that kind of petty crime. The guy who placed the add checked his P O Box daily, then paid his rent in quarters at the front desk of a dilapidated flophouse in the Bowery, scratched his nuts, and went back to bed, wearing pajama bottoms for the entire daily routine.

I have a few of those magazines. They're great. Many of the models have facial expressions which suggest that they owe money to The Mob. The ads are best; fake police badges, replica guns, nylon stockings, X-Ray Spex, the same as in comic books, etc. The usually had a 35 cent cover price, and they could fit in a back pocket or under the sunscreen of an American made car.

He was so good, he played a Frenchman in TNG and no one questioned his english accent lol. He was one of the greats for sure.

Patrick Stewart is one of those guys who has not changed in looks since I was a kid. The man has looked the exact same my entire life. Rest in peace to one of the best.

He was a classy being.

His autobiography is worth a read if you like that sort of thing. His childhood was pretty grim and he doesn't gloss over his failings (like the affair with Jennifer Hetrick) and comes across as a flawed human being, and an honest one.

Two of the causes he supported for much of his life illustrate to me his decency.

His father was violent and abusive after he returned from the war, and his mother suffered greatly at his hands. The authorities would do nothing, and she was told it was her fault, she must have provoked him.
Stewart was a dedicated supporter of shelters, programming and education about domestic violence.

If this was me I'd have hated my father. However he tried to understand the man and years later he discovered his fathers war record and learned about his experiences. They were horrific and the man clearly suffered from what was called shell shock at the time. The experience changed his father, and you might say ruined him. But he never got any help or treatment.

Stewart also supported causes that helped soldiers and others who suffer from PTSD. He fought for their rights, and pressured militaries to help treat their veterans not abandon them.

Patrick Stewart was a decent human being day and age when they seem to be harder to find, and I fear a better man than I.

May he rest in peace.

French grammar naziism will become extinct during the Eugenics Wars, which were supposed to have happened during the 1990's, according to 'TOS' canon.

I do like that sort of thing and I will now try to find a copy to read. Autobiographies are one of my preferred reading materials because it lets you know more about people you like (or hate)
