His work included albums such as Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell (which is one of the best selling albums of all time[2]) and Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and producing albums for Bonnie Tyler. RIP. I was only aware of his Meatloaf stuff. Didn't know about the Bonnie Tyler "Total Eclipse" Both of which for me are the musical equivalent of listening to nails on the blackboard while drinking curdled milk.

My fave Steinman song, this original version , not Meatloaf's

I have this on a 7" vinyl promotional record which was a bonus that came with the album "Bad for Good"

Great song. Steinman doesn't actually sing it though. He used a professional vocalist which is why it sounds so great. The video would have you believe otherwise however.

Truly some kind of music genius - whacko bird. I've got the LP of his one and only album. Kind of rare really, it didn't sell worth a damn. lol

He will be missed - loved everything he created. I wish he had one more Bat Out of Hell collection to give to the world.
