Longtime tv and movie actor, Emmett Walsh has died from cardiac arrest at age 88, he was one of the great character actors of all time who appeared in over 200 films.

First thing I remember seeing him in was Blood Simple, a Coen Bothers movie (their 1st?) from the mid '80s. The kind of guy you'd recognize but never know his name.

I think his screen name was M. Emmett Walsh. A very popular character actor throughout his career. He was a part of many movies I enjoyed growing up - Wildcats, Fletch, Back to School, Narrow Margin, The Mighty Quinn.

I can't believe this dude was still active acting in his late 80's. Talk about dedicated to your craft. RIP sir
