He was a premio actor, meaning he made actors who worked with him better than they thought they were. Most notably Jane Fonda (Klute) and Mary Tyler Moore (Ordinary People). My favorite film of his is Invasion of the Body Snatchers, written and directed by Phillip Kaufman (Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Right Stuff).

An awesome person, who represented Canada well in his industry and still is via his son.
RIP. Had a great life. To be proud of. Very interesting and ironic persona. I remember, when I was living in the UK as a young loser, back in the sixties. There were a lot of good TV dramas. Plays of the week etc. and he was a regular. Quirky and humorous. Always grabbed my attention. Likeable guy. Thanks for the memories.
