Rick Nash to become a Leaf !

The information I am reading elsewhere differs from this thread. Nash has not requested a trade, howeve, he says he will relinquish his no movement clause if he is not wanted in Columbus and a trading him will improve the Jackets. Getting him in Toronto would be complicated as the Leafs would have to clear cap space as well as find players and parts that Columbus would find acceptable.
Wrong.
He also has 28 other possible destinations besides Toronto.
Not only that, he has expressed that he would be more willing to waive his NTC to go to a small media market, rather than the centre of the NHL universe.
Not happening, and why does Leaf nation think every good player should want to come here, and their respective teams should send them here for a bag of pucks??

Rumors get blown completely out of proportion as about a dozen Toronto sports reporters try to one-up each other.
Then the talking heads at TSN and Sportnet compound the problem by "reporting" the facts.

He has stated that his preference (should he be moved) is to go to a small market, small media presence team.
I heard that he wanted to play for Leafs long time ago. Why would any Super Star player reject playing in their home town Toronto and make double the salary

Well they would try and start rumours that players want to play for Ottawa or the Islanders or Columbus or Phoenix or Dallas, etc, but then they would be laughed out of every media box/area at every NHL event.

I stated the other day, it was also in other media markets other than Toronto(in other words US markets) that the Ducks said almost all of their star players are available. So I expressed my wish, assuming the US media was not lying, that I would like to see Getzlaf in a Leaf uniform.

I think I may be able to help the stupid with the misconception they may have over the messages Leaf fans have been saying over the years. Yes, I too have heard Leaf fans say I would like(to use the above mentioned players) to see Stamkos, Nash and Getzlaf come to the Leafs. Being intelligent hockey fans and understanding the cap, we Leaf fans do want the above mentioned players to play for the Leafs, but we also realize(here is where you guys get confused) that once we get one of these guys, the other players are no longer a possibility in today's NHL, unless of course there is a HUGE jump in the cap next season.

I have a good insight on Brian Burke orchestrating three-way deal between Columbus and Anaheim by flipping Ryan Getzlaf to get Rick Nash or vice-versa. Ironboy, which R do you prefer, Ryan or Rick ? I'll take Rick only for being a younger player and should fit wonderfully in the current lineup along with coach (R)on. (R)ight !!
