I've opened this thread to answer any questions about the auction. If you have questions please ask them here for the entire community.

Please note the timelines have changed by popular demand. Several requests from out of time Ladies, saying that they want to bid but they need more time to organize travel and schedules before they can commit to fulfilling holiday fantasies in Ottawa. This will also give more men, which may not be regulars on TERB, to join the suction. As such, I'm going to add a week to the auction. This will be the last extension. New Timeliest are:

Fantasies must be posted by Tuesday night, Dec 10th
ids must be in by Thursday night, Dec 12,
Winning bids chosen by Friday night, Dec 13.

If needed I'll bump this everyday. Some good comments in the Q/A thread about deposits.

Men are asking if they have to accept the highest bid.

Technically in a reverse auction, the winner is the lowest bid (thus the 'reverse' auction). The ladies bidding to offer you the lowest bid to give you the fantasy. Please keep in mind that these are bespoke fantasies for charity, so this won't be a race to the bottom. With that said, no one has to accept any bid. You can pick the lowest, the highest, the best overall proposition, you get to decide which one is the best for you. You can pick them all if you want to live out the fantasy numerous times, or you can decide that none of the bids work for you.

I have also been asked about deposits. I understand that some (many) men have been ripped off in the past and do not give deposits. The other side of the coin is the fake bookings. I think that a lot of these fantasies will involve at least some prep work, and thus a deposit is needed to allow them to invest that time. Let's see if we can make it work somehow on a case-by-case basis, client-provider. I'm trying to keep this thread positive, and I really don't want this thread to become a debate on deposits and people's war stories related to it.

This isn't a question, but a bit of gratitude.

Peter, great idea, even better with charity involved. Shout out to you for working out the guidelines, the rules, and the time it took.

In advance, shout out to the ladies who will be doing the planning. We all know that will take up some time.

Great little community coming together in time for the holidays.

I don’t want to overcomplicate things but for the reverse auction, the SWPDF can bond any amounts sent directly to cover a potential loss on either side. So, if we receive a donation for which someone has been demonstrably scammed or a provider faces a loss as per their policies, for example a last minute cancellation, we will either return this donation to the gent who booked or give this it to the provider who incurred a loss to make everyone at least partially whole. If you trust McKenna & I to adjudicate this perhaps with Peter, that’s not a problem!

I personally think vetting someone for honesty and reliability should be enough but we can actually bond a deposit in this case if it makes everyone more comfortable. 😘

I think this is a great idea for people who are nervous, and I'm willing to do my part.

If there’s a charitable donation component, the SWPDF can accept via etransfer, PayPal, crypto or possibly an Uber card and then will hold it in escrow until the date is done. If anyone behaves in bad faith by ghosting or cancelling, we can look at the correspondence privately and return this money to the injured party. In truth, I wouldn’t be comfortable keeping a donation with any malfeasance attached as we’re working towards status as a registered charity. ❤🙏

I would suggest that deposits are non-refundable, and if the client cancels/ghosts/etc then that deposit gets split from the provider and the charity.

So can we do a different kind of auction, perhaps in the New Year? Still towards charity BUT the providers post their fantasy… and the clients bid on the date.

I have some fantastic ideas after reading all these posts.

Think of it like a Sadie Hawkins auction hehe 😉

Awww, you make it sounds almost wholesome ;)

I think its a great idea. Perhaps around Valentines day? People are a bit broke in January, so to make it as successful as possible for charity we push it a little bit.

Hehe doubt it’ll sound very wholesome once I share my fantasies 😏

But yes, I was thinking the same. Definitely not right after the holidays. But later next year. February or March sounds good 👌

For men making multiple posts, that is great, but I have a small suggestion to ensure that planning and timing isn't too hard.

Feel free to add something like the following at the end of the post: "This is my 4th post. I am open to scheduling this in March/April 2025."
(obviously the # and dates change based on your situation).

This will help you by ensuring that you don't commit too much time and money to December/January, but also help the companions by allowing them to bid on things they know are later in the year. it will also open the door for ladies who are touring to be able to join in more easily.

I would also like to give a big thank you to McKenna for her suggestion.

I have gotten messages from several, several companions, some from Montreal and Toronto, who are incredibly excited to put out their fantasies for bid. I have gotten many comments like 'I don't know if the men of Ottawa will be able to handle my fantasy'. In response I told them that if they make the men happy in the reverse auction, they will reciprocate in the companion auction.

Guys, buckle up. This is about to get very very good.

Curious how permissible it is for a prospective lady to share what portion of bid they plan to contribute to charity. A bidder categorically must be compensated but can we ask they share what they have in mind being for the cause and all?

If we're going to trust these ladies with our junks, I think it's OK to just trust them on this. I know I will. 😉 😜
