Replacement Laptop Battery

Any techies here that recommend best place to purchase replacement laptop battery in GTA. Or perhaps online?

Do you recommend purchasing original equipment battery or any after market battery?

I recently purchased a replacement battery for my kid'sToshiba laptop from Canada Computes and had to return it because it was defective. It was not Toshiba branded, but an after market replacement. It turned off at 40% capacity after the first charge.

try amazon.com I replaced my battery on my toshiba battery 1 year ago. I still am using the battery from amazon, and it is actually working better than my original toshiba battery, and it cost me about 30 dollars all included.

Environmental conditions, and not cycling alone, are a key ingredient to longevity, and the worst situation is keeping a fully charged battery at elevated temperatures. This is the case when running a laptop off the power grid. Under these conditions, a battery will typically last for about two years, whether cycled or not.

I followed the advice on storing a battery in that site and always pulled the battery out when laptop in plugged into the AC. By doing that I still get well over 2½ hours out of my OEM Toshiba battery that is ~4½ yrs old.

learned my lesson...my laptop battery died within the first year...i got a replacement on warranty have it charged but keep it out of the laptop until absolutely need...then i put the battery in...move the laptop and that's that...so far so good...

Do not use you LAPtop on your lap, this will decrease air circulation, and raise temps.

Same applies for not using a laptop on a bed, couch, or any soft surface that may obstruct the air cooling vents. High temps are a killer for laptops and will shorten their life....
