Deck stacking? Not sure where you get that from. I chose the most popular online stores for the most popular models of desktop machines, and posted the sites. Actually, the all-in-one from Dell is the most expensive model of desktop machine because it's brand new and integrates all components into one monitor-CPU presentation (like the iMAC). Choose a standard desktop presentation from DELL and the savings are almost astronomical against the MAC.
It's not an article, and therefore excludes author bias. It's a store, and you can build your own system. I don't think it gets much more objective than that.
www.dell.ca, and
http://store.apple.com/ca. You can go configure your own system, match specs and check the price.
For Apple, you can start your customization here...
http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac/select
and for Dell, you can start here...

I'm not going to cut and paste my findings, 'cuz then you'll accuse me of editing or bias. Just go, build your own system and report back. Good luck with that btw. I stand by my words...when you compare technical, measurable, comparable hardware specifications between a MAC and a PC, the PC will always be less expensive.
Give this one up nibbler, you won't win. Even die-hard Apple users won't deny the reality of Apple's overpriced offerings.
