This was an interesting article on the Mother and daughter porn duo and how they got out of the industry....and who helped them.I was not aware of the Pink Cross Organization until reading this article and a few other links.

I also viewed the "dead porn stars" tribute video.ALOT of gay porn actors have died in that industry.

So called "televangelist" ministries are the biggest scams on the planet!
And the second biggest is the rest of organized religion. Believe our books do what we say (including kill who we say kill) and go to heaven.

How cynical can you be, really? You comments are over simplistic, but you could also apply the same thinking to most countries in the world. Follow our laws or we punish you, put you in jail, or kill you.

If you don't like religion that's fine, but don't try to explain it that way. It just doesn't wash.

By the way, I'm not very religious in my daily life, but have been know to utter, God damn you, at the right moment.

I don't think you could compare any free country in the world too religion as their laws are based on the will of the people who elect them and they can be changed if the views of the people change (ie gay marriage.) Also you get tangible benefits for playing by society's rules (living in a prosperous and fairly safe country) where religions promises are all for things after you die which they have no actual knowledge of or evidence for. Unless your using dictatorships as an example but if anything I think that helps my point.

And using a common slur with a religious basis hardly makes someone religious, to paraphrase Christopher Hitchens when I'm out of words or even more so out of ideas I'll revert to that language as well.

Religious organization"saves" mother and daughter from porn industry....?

I'm sure it's only fair because I am sure the porn industry has saved many from religious organizations

This is truly a delicate and troubling issue for many of us. We hope and try our best to ascertain that the women we see are in this industry voluntarily and for the right reasons. At the same time one would have to be blind to not know that there are at least some women who are in it under duress.

Therefore it is good that there are organizations like "the Pink Cross". At the same time I truly do not believe that there are a significant number of women in Canada who are in this business under duress.

Some women are in this industry because they like what they do. Others are in it because they feel they've got no other options.

This organization gave these ladies another option and they took it. Good for them.

Too bad for the disappointed guys who wanted to do a mother/daughter duo.

I know this mother/daughter duo.. I met them in Florida when they both first started. I watched them online on myspace and other websites with their struggle to be famous as porn actors and I guess it didn't work...
asking for donations? seriously? if it weren't for that I would suggest they were sincere in leaving. Both are quite capable of getting square jobs.

Religious groups often give back in spades. With all the bad press that some get, like the JWs and the Mormons they do look after their flock as does a lot of the various Hutterites and Mennonite communities and I've seen on more than one occasion were the Mennonites and Hutterites come to the aid of outsider, just because it's their community and their neighbour. The first time I saw a barn raising for a neighbour, not a member, who had lost his barn to an arsonist, it blew me away. Boy can they work .... and food!!! They also don't spend a lot of time proselytizing or preaching to you. They just do, then leave quietly.

There's a lot of tangibles there and they are applied to the here and now, not just to after life. I don't look down on people who need religion for answers, but I do ask that they do the same.

You give the 'will of the people' too much credit in establishing the laws of the land. As we see too often there are a lot of stupid people out there who can be lead around blindly by the nose and made to do and say stupid thing

I would tend to agree there was a serious commitment to get out of the industry if not for the "sexed" up site with clips from Howard stern and the outfits for sale. She also has "relationship advice" for 2.30$ a minute...I mean really.

This lady's kind of a piece of work. She said she followed her daughter to hollywood to "save her" from the industry, and ended doing threesomes with her(yes i know they never did the same guy at the same time on film but I'd bet good money that behind the scences it happened under the right circumstances.....fuck, at least i hope lolo),and had set up a blog the whole shooting match.

THEN she gets saved but decides to peddle the industry(promoting stern, selling merchandise) on a website.I'm no expert on religion, but if god's around..he doesn't like her very much.On a personal note,I think the whole mother daughter fantasy is HOT and I'd jump to the pump in a heartbeat.
