Hi Folks,

Like many people, I'm out looking for a job. Now, for the past few years I've been working for my dad's company, but he died last fall (there is a thread or 2 about that around here about that). So for the past few months, I've been a business owner as opposed to an employee. Due to the nature of what is going on in my particular industry, I'm winding the company down, and it will be disolved.

My question; since I'm an company owner, will I be asked for a reference from the immediate past? If so, then who since I don't have a boss? How is this usually handled?

Thanks in advance.

It may be an issue you had a company that went boobs up but depending on what industry you are looking for a job you will do as good as you can talk.

These days you get hired for being personable, can show integrity and reliability. The other factor is who you are competing against. Supply and demand. If your skils are in need then no problem, but if not then......
