The Ministry of the Environment should serve the City of Toronto with a hefty fine every time raw sewage is spilled into Lake Ontario from the Toronto sewers . The ancient water treatment system should be replaced or repaired in Toronto. This isn’t the era of Victorian London Thames River or the Ganges River. The beaches in Toronto have dangerous levels of E.Coli amd Fecal Coliform on their shorelines for a while after heavy rainfalls like last Tuesday.

Believe it or not, the City of Toronto has been proactive about addressing this problem for decades, and work continues in full force to solve it.

With all that rain in such a short time, it's pretty hard to prevent the discharge of sewage to the lake. No matter how advanced your treatment system is.
Every major rainfall this happens in Toronto.
Also sewage has been dumped into Lake Ontario for decades. This has been discovered recently in Hamilton and Toronto.
