Hey Everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone here has season tickets to the Raptors? If so , I just wanted to pick your brain for a second.

I'm looking to buy season tickets (which are now waitlisted) from the Raptors and use a stub hub or something of the sort for the games I can't attend. I had Season tickets before, but back then there was no stub hub, so I spent a lot of time trying to get rid of (free) weekly games against the timberwolves etc.

If I do buy, lower level seats are about $3300 each, and I buy two. I'd have to average about $85 a ticket to break even (more or less). I figure with premium games (warriors or spurs / thunder) I would make up for the Sixers or the Nets games. Having a front of the line option for the playoffs would be a big goal, while selling the middle games and attending games 1 and 4,5,6,7

  1. Does this formula make sense?
  2. What can I expect from using a service like stub hub etc? quick turnover? US dollar exchange? direct deposit?

Thanks again.

I've generally followed that strategy this year. I'm a big Raptors fan, so if I couldn't get the price I wanted on stub hub, I went to the game. There are also other ways to sell tickets such as the market place that's built into the raptors season ticket Ticketmaster account and kajiji.

Also be aware that supply and demand are tied to the quality of the product on the court. And be sure to go to the seat selection day (usually during the middle of a work day around Canada Day) so you can check out the vantage point of your seats before choosing them.

Regarding stub hub payment, it's linked to your PayPal and takes 3-5 days for payment to get to your account. Oh, and buyers prefer to be able to download tickets for ease of use. This is easily done by downloading PDFs of your tickets then posting them to stub hub.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

You are also able to directly sell your season tickets on TicketMaster with their new resale service as funny mentioned - I've had better success selling my tickets that way vs StubHub.

With regards to selling, I've actually had more trouble selling the super premium games this year (Warriors/Cavs) vs some of the lower tiered games due to the dynamic pricing. The Raptors price the premium games much higher, which made it more difficult to sell. I ended up selling both pairs but had to sell them for slightly below face value but still higher than cost.

I never thought Of that. I guess from what I've read you'll never hit a huge home run but a bit each game to make up for the game you go and see or use the gravy for the playoff tickets which are extra.

Overall, I don't make $$$ at this. I do it because I love the Raps and want to see them. I sell on the Ticketmaster marketplace, Kajiji (to avoid stub hub fees), or stub hub (USD worked in my favour due to the exchange rate) depending on the situation.

Isn't yours come with the seat license?
I very recently looked into purchasing season tickets and the total for the 2 seats and the seat license was $39000 for the first year and $19000 every year after that. BTW no waiting list for those seats.
