Part of the reason Marshall is on the block is his lack of defensive presence on the inside. He has some size and plays ok positionally one on one in the post but has no intimidation factor and isn't much help on penetration. Another reason may be that he's older and he is much more of a half court player. He can run on occasion but it ends up affecting his usefulness on D.

I agree that the trade doesn't benefit the team. It is obvious that rose is being shopped around, playing against the other teams bench and racking up easier points.

Raps want to trade Marshall because he is a free agent at the end of the year and he is not going to come back as contenders could use his skills coming off the bench and he is not getting any younger.

You have to wonder about Marshall. Being a 4th overall pick with above avg skills, he has certainly bounced around alot in the league. Maybe there is something about him in the locker room that we're not aware of.
