People need to ease up a bit. Moss is the man and the Vikings would not even be in the playoffs without him. Even with a bad ankle he scored two TD's and made the cornerback look silly on the last TD.
Classless is that clown Bertuzzi attacking a player from behind.
His bad ankle was only for 1 td not two. On his first TD his ankle was fine.

uggh...you said what I said would lead to more fighting in the stands...and the answer is no it wont. Considering how many games there are, in all leagues, how often do athletes literally fight with the fans? Very rarely I would say unless you can somehow disprove than I would be astonished, thats how your point is irrelevant. You're making assumptions that this will lead to fighting......

Have to agree here. Whne he came out as a young kid he played pretty good. But now that teams have figured him out he hasn't done much. I don't think he is crap, but he sure as heck is no superstar.
Do you even watch football dude?

Like him or hate him...you have to admit that he's a top shelf receiver

Two touchdowns on an injured ankle...but teams have figured him out...ya right.

Only T.O. can hold a candle to this guy (He’s in the top five on anyone’s list)

I don't care for it, but really who cares if he PRETENDED to moon the fans. FYI, Green Bay fans moon the opposing teams bus after games as they leave the stadium parking lot after a loss. It's a tradition there. Moss was obviously poking fun at that.

Saying that Moss isn't a star is just flat out wrong. The only thing that slowed him down this year was injuries. Also the double, and yes triple teams that he faces opens up the field for his teammates.
Finally!! An intelligent take.

Just like Deion Sanders says, if you dont like seeing the endzone celebrations, dont let him score.
BTW: The two biggest stories over the last couple seasons were Owens autographing a touchdown ball and Joe Horn making a call from the end zone on his cell phone.

People eat this shit up...

The problem I have is with recievers in general. Out of the 70-80 plays a game, most handle the ball 4-5 times. They don't block for crap. Then when they score, they think their the biggest key to the teams success. What about lineman that get hit every play, or RB's that touch the ball 30 times and pay the price every time, or the QB that has to make the decisions on every play and live with the results after the game. When I played, only the fast skinny pussies that couldn't take the punishment of being a RB went out for reciever. In my opinion they are one very small step up from kickers on the "football player" scale. It's amazing how many of these guys can go up through the system to very high levels without being the least bit tough. If they want to do all the celebration or taunting, that's fine, but don't bitch about the hits the safety's bring. You make your bed, you sleep in it.

One TD on an injured ankle. His ankle was ok on the first TD.

Thank you for making my point. The game is the product. Not some chump's self centric pompous attitude!!

You have to learn have to read the_big_E . Show me where I said that would lead to more fighting in the stands. Read my clarification one more time please. You made a point on fans acting foolishly and that the pro athlete only returned what was given to him (foolish behaviour). Did not the Pacers fight in Auburn Hills show how athletes should NOT participate in foolish behaviour, no matter how much the fans may egg an athlete on??!!

OK. For the THIRD time. Players fighting in stands is an example of childish/foolish/unacceptable behaviour by pro athletes just as a pro athlete mooning the fans because the fans moons the athlete. Now fighting in degree is worse because of the violence factor, but at the end of the day it's an unacceptable action just as mooning is. Is that clear enough for you?

Oh and that post that you quoted was sarcasm seeing as you missed that.

They guy did not moon the fans, he did not even show his bare ass. He made a gesture and now everyone wants to crucify him. Please, it ain't even worth talking about.
Bush league your point is valid, football is a team effort. But what i don't like is the fact that the QB's get all the glory. They always win league and super bowl MVP's.
Moss and T.O deliberately get under people skins, they can get away with it because they are superstars.

MRMARCUS, Point taken about QB's, but why is it predominately recievers we get this from. Their are plenty of Superstar RB's and they seem to go quitely about their business. Probably because they know if they act up, their are too many chances for the other team to retaliate, unlike recievers.

Luckily he won't have to worry about facing the Bears in the playoffs anytime soon.;-)

I don't like the guy, but he is obviously one of the top few receivers in the game.

depends how drunk I am
Moss is an unbelievable talent when it comes to catching and receiving a football. He's also unbelievably immature.

But he's been like this way for awhile. Back before he turned pro, he bounced around from school to school because of a reputaion of being 'immature' and 'undisciplined'. Seems some things never change. Let's not forget his famous "I'll play hard only when I feel like it" speech. Or last weeks 'I'll walk off the field whenever I feel like it during the last moments of the Vikes loss to Washington.

Guys like Moss and for that matter Terrel Owens will continue to get away with their immature, selfish and 'controversial' behaviour because they are so good at what they do on the field. They are both gamebreakers- and teams know that. That's why the teams that have them will tolerate such conduct because they think that the trade-off will be worth it- i.e. winning games. Such is the reality of pro sports- it's all about winning. And winning produces $$$.

In football, each win and loss is more crucial than in other sports because there are so few games played. Having a Moss or Owens on a team could mean the difference between going to the Superbowl or going home before the playoffs even start.

Personally, I think both are jackasses -though for different reasons; I think Moss is just immature and just doesn't know any better. But Owens on the other hand is just starved for attention and craves the spotlight. I think he needs the attention just to be able to function. Not having anyone's attention would probably hurt him more than a Ray Lewis tackle. He's like that class clown that as soon as people stop paying attention to, he'll do something more wild and flamboyant just to grab the spotlight again.

But one thing I have to admit about Moss and Owens is that they are both exceptionally talented when it comes to playing on the field. I don't think there's any argument there.

Brother...he's been injured for half the season (he's not even close to a 100%.)

Seriously, you’re kidding....right?

Chicago hasn't figured anyone out since 1985. Keep livin' in the past man. "Dabears" haven't been relevant in a decade. Poor Brian Urlacher is going to waste all that talent toiling away at the bottom of the NFC Central (even the Lions are better.)

I dont find it that big of a deal...apparently there is some history behind it. Unbeknownst to me, hardcore Packers fans will moon the losing team going to the team bus, or something like that, is what I heard. Tony Dungy said he's been mooned 6/7 times. Anyone who caught PTI today will know what I'm talking about. And they also raised another good point, FOX, well Joe Buck was outraged by it...well FOX has some of the most ludicrous programming out there, so this was right up their perverbial alley!
I didn't know that, now what I thought was just a silly taunting of the crowed (who were taunting him about leaving the prior game early) is really funny.

Had he pulled down the draws he'd be fined - but as someone else said, if you don't like the antics don't let him score - Packers didn't have much luck with that defense last week.
