Ariel, takes this advice as you wish, but I am speaking as a former SP myself.Ariel Sanchez said:I usually go by that theory too tboy. I love Mortons Steakhouse, but i know it's kind of expensive, so i usually cut a guy a break if he takes me there. Since the bill is usually around some ladies 2 hour rate, lol.....
This is my dilemma. It's like i want to put my overnight rate down, but can you imagine if i put my rate to say $1350 but then the guy just wanted me on my back the whole night? OMG i'd freak. How do you distinguish between the guys that genuinly just want an unrushed evening of dinner, drinks maybe dancing or a strip club. Obviously same crazy sex and room services, between the guys that wanna order in a pizza and never let you out of the bed because those guys should be charged my regular $2000 rate. lol.....

Whatever you do don't, don't, don't as tempting as it may be hit up the <$1000 market. The sub $1000 market for overnights are the type of client that want to have you on your back all night. And now, from looking at you-what guy wouldn't? LOL...you are a very attractive lady...but back to my point. I tried catering to this market at one time in my career by offering $500 overnights. I did it not because I was desperate, but rather because I thought that a nice night of dinner and dancing should not cost a fortune. Most people don't make what we do as SPs. It did not bring in what I thought it would, and most importantly I got a lot of disrespect and flack for it. As well as a ton of people trying to negotiate me down and others saying I am desperate. Which even now makes me laugh because anyone who knows me knows that I am far from desperate! I have worked hard my whole life, have a university degree, and had a ton of job offers when I graduated at 21! I chose to continue to work as an SP after my graduation and avoid the real world. When I finally decided it was time to take my head out of the sand I quit working as an SP and landed myself 4 job offers within a few weeks. Anyhow, that's not the point this is...Just don't do it!
I think $1500 + is what you should be aiming for. But this is just what I think. If I were to go back to working I would not make the same mistakes I did last time. I was more of a PSE type and only charging $200 an hour for my services. If I were to ever come back, which is highly doubtful but as my mom says "never say never", I would charge more in the line of $250 -300 an hour and $1500 for an overnight. When I was working as an SP, I enjoyed the flexibility and the money. Two things which don't necessarily come so easy in outside work. Trust me, I work 60 hrs a week for menial "entry level" pay. And being a young person (22) with a bachelors, I do have to start somewhere. And while I don't get paid nearly as much as I did when I was an SP, I enjoy my new position much more because I get treated with respect. As Alanis Morrissette sings in her song One hand in My pocket, "I am poor but I am happy".
Anyways Ariel, you are truly a beautiful lady. And I hope you find that in your retirement you find a job that fills your soul and makes you happy.
