its all mostly uploading not downloading so I just wanna make sure its not due to rogers making changes. afterall they did boost the gig limit and increased speed since when do you get something for nothing?Go to Rogers.com and check your usage. You can track your usage and see when it is happening the most. 30gigs over in a month tells me that someone probably hacked your wireless network or it is an open network and you other downloading stuff off your network. Happens all the time.
Are you using torrents? If so you need to be careful because out of the blue a whole bunch of people may want what you have and your upload use will skyrocket. I got burned by this before I set a monthly cap on my upload speed and limit (your torrent program does this).its all mostly uploading not downloading so I just wanna make sure its not due to rogers making changes. afterall they did boost the gig limit and increased speed since when do you get something for nothing?

Gave up rogers and bell long ago...Primus has unlimited uploads and downloads for fixed price
+1 million. I pay $40. I get consistently 20 mpbs and my limit is 300 gigs. Totally worth it.Just switch to Teksavvy
oh shit, so youre saying if I leave my previously downloaded files on my bittorrent and don;t remove them off bittorrent when other users try to download them my uploading will skyrocket? I just removed them all now will that stop it?Are you using torrents? The only reason why anyone should still be buying internet from Bell or Rogers is that they have threatened to quit and gotten an equivalent retention plan. There is no other reason.+1 million. I pay $40. I get consistently 20 mpbs and my limit is 300 gigs. Totally worth it.
That's correct. If you leave the torrent active then others will keep uploading from you. It boosts your rating but eats up your bandwidth. Either put a cap on uploads or delete the torrent once you've downloaded it (or let it upload to 1.0 so you're a good torrent user).oh shit, so youre saying if I leave my previously downloaded files on my bittorrent and don;t remove them off bittorrent when other users try to download them my uploading will skyrocket? Bell and Rogers throttle all users the same. The point is there are no bandwidth caps, you don't get ridiculous bills just for watching a few movies on netflix.I've been wanting to try teksavvy for a while now, but don't teksavvy users get throttled by Rogers and Bell since they're piggybacking off their infrastructure. I'd really like to try out teksavvy, but if they get throttled what's the point?
I bought a DSL service from teksavvy, not a cablemodem. They sell both. My modem says "Bell" on the side, and it was installed by a Bell tech. Teksavvy is a reseller, I get the same bad service all Bell users do--but for much less money.Any connection issues? Is the DNS server always up? How reliable is it?
Yup. And in my opinion which one is better for you depends only on how far you are from their CO. In my case I get a much better quality connection off DSL, but I have friends who get a much better connection from cable. It depends on the length of the cable between your modem and their service. Can I get the same bad service Rogers users get - but for less money?
They don't specifically target teksavvy customers. However, Rogers will see to their own customer's tech support before dealing with techsavvy issues.I've been wanting to try teksavvy for a while now, but don't teksavvy users get throttled by Rogers and Bell since they're piggybacking off their infrastructure.
