The following poll options are a list of things that either happened to me, or to other girls I worked with at agencies or spas, or women I met that went indy after working for an agency. I'm sure the list of things is not complete, so if I missed something, feel free to tell your story.

For those of you who have worked for agencies in the past and left, what of the following did you have happen to you ? I going to extend this poll to all adult industries, to include if you ever had this happen to you in a strip club or other format of adult industry.

The point of this poll, is that I feel that the marginalization of the adult industry opens the door for labor abuses and/or poor working conditions.

why would you lump "never had a problem" with "I am a guy wanting to see results"............I'd say the numbers of those who have never had any real problems would be an important figure.......why hide it??

In my non industry job I have been....

Sent into potentially dangerous situations
The owners used or sold drugs and pressured you to use them or take them
Used tactics to control you and/or keep you from leaving or harrassed after leaving the (job) agency
Made to work longer hours than what labor laws would normally allow for
Was not paid for appts (hours worked) or was shorted on the amount owed to you
Charged fees or fined for petty reasons
Placed at the bottom of the list for calls (overtime) out of spite
Had stuff stolen from you or were otherwise victimized by another employee

I had to lump a lot of the options together because I originally had 15 in my list but the poll limits me to 10 options.

Your poll will simply show the problems without properly showing any positive as in "I've never had a problem".... seems destined already

I'm more concerned with the types of problems that are being incurred among those that are having problems with them. These polls aren't scientificly accurate anyways, so this wouldnt be an accurate way to measure the pervasiveness of the issues.

What you say is true, However, knowing how many guys looked at this poll is useless, whereas knowing the number of ladies who've had no problems, though not your focus, does still provide some insight. That somewhat useful info is now lost for the sake of adding data that was useless.

Not meaning to be critical because it is an interesting topic for a poll and original (as far as I recall), but I thought exactly the same thing as DU2 as soon as I saw that option.

I'll admit I've run into all those problems over the years, but I still believe that agencies/massage parlours have their place. While there's a lot of corruption, all aren't completely bad. And it's not like there's any Bachelor's or certification program for prostitutes. I think things would be a lot worse if young SPs were forced to go out independent from the get-go because then they'd be at the mercy of "customers" who will tell them anything to get what they want. (And all SPs have encountered men like this.)

At least the agencies/parlours have profit at heart, and help a young service provider understand that, if she wishes to make a profit, she can't let the customer dictate the terms. If most women came into this business without such guidance, some guys would have them paying to do it, washing their socks in the bargain, and apologizing for the privilege.

Agencies and parlours -- for all their warts -- have their role.

Agencies

I must say that I have never had any of the above problems with any agency I have ever worked with. They all treated me very well. Being
an indy gives me a little more freedom and lets me qualify my own clients. Just my 2 cents, Maryln
