yikes... i would have thought you'd be doing it every 2 or 3 months... heck even i get tested twice a year... and i, sadly enough, rarely get laid ;-)

It would be a useless document to have, since someone could contract the virus minutes after being tested.

Be careful, assess the risks, and ultimately don't do it if you're not comfortable. All the negative tests in the world are meaningless without knowing every instance of sexual contact the person in question has had, and when they had it.

if she was HIV + and continued to work, she could be charged for aggravated assault. I think there is a recent SCC case called R V Williams (2003) that dealt with this issue.

If is it a STD, it may or may not attract the same charge it would depend if the STD endangered the life of the person.

maybe assault BH ?

Still no response from any more SPs...

This is getting disturbing...
Why do you find it disturbing?... unless you engage in unsafe sexual acts

maybe we should turn it around and ask how often "Johns" get themselves tested

What do you find so disturbing? Do you think anyone would openly admit on a public board that they have now or have in the past- contracted an STD or even HIV?

Since my first sexual encounter, I've visited my doctor for checkups. As I entered the Escort business, I was honest with my physician about my career choice and he advised me to check in as often as possible. I visit him for an STD/ HIV checkup twice a year and I go to a walk in clinic twice a year. So roughly every 3 months, I am checked. I have two girlfriends in this business whom are fanatical about safety- they both visit the clinic every month.

You can never be too sure of who has an STD as many infected people donot show symptoms. If you share bodily fluids with anyone via daty, unprotected intercourse, bareback bj, etc- you run the risk of contracting something. Limiting yourself to only a few clients or escorts per month does lessen your chance of catching something, but you could see your very first and catch something. Unprotected ANYTHING is a risk for your health. I havent heard of any men or women in this biz too young to know better, but alot of us do it regardless.

Is a few moments of "pleasure" worth risking a lifetime of Herpes or worse- HIV? You be the judge.

Golden Boy: do you still think it's disturbing?

THATS what is disturbing - the fact that there are SPs out there who are willing to engage in unsafe sexual acts given the nature of the job...

...and disturbing that there have been many threads about this issue, and not too many SPs respond to it... it says a lot...

I don't find it disturbing at all... but if you are that concerned about it, maybe you should lobby your local politicians to legalize prostitution so that the SP's would have to get regular check-ups to maintain their licence... but then you would probably complain about the SW's not having licences.

If you are worried about getting burned... don't play with fire.. stay home and jerk yourself off..

you say there are many SP's that will perform unsafe acts... why worry about that.. why not just make sure that you practice safe sex at all times?

At no point did I ask for anyone to openly admit they had contracted an STD.

My whole point was that with some SPs having unprotected sex, as well as BBBJ etc... aren't they worried about STDs????
It's not JUST the sp's who are doing it. The men do too...two way street.

And I certainly hope we're all worried about it.
