A french led gov't fighting against a french led group of protestors.

Their mutual problem is who will surrender first.

The students have targeted the Formula F1 race because they considered it lavish spending while children in Africa are starving. Next targets are the Montreal Canadiens and then the Pan American games. We don't want games, we want money.

It's hilarious listening to them chant about a supposed fascist state, yet allow skinheads givin g a Stiff arm salute join the parade. They don't reall have any idea what they're marching against, they're just marching. Candian and Quebec sports icon Villaneuve, who has spoken against the protestors has received death threats.

These student protests are now affecting the pocketbook of ordinary Canadian businesses and workers. Attendance at the Formula F1 is down as are tourists.

The student won't care. To them, it's bigger than that, especially now that the lost education year won't be held against them. They aren't under any pressure to negotiate right now.

The much ballyhooed student disruption of the Grand Prix was all talk, as saner heads prevailed, sort of. Only a few people were arrested. Although attendance was down some.

Right now the students are basking in their newfound sense of power. The media is actually approaching them. Most in Quebec with half a brain realize their cause isn't just. Take the fee increase out of the pockets of the public sector unions or lay off the professors while the students are on strike and this would be over in two weeks. My guess is that this will eventually end the same way the occupy movement ended.
