"...no evidence that screening with PSA tests
reduces mortality, whereas
there is evidence of harms."
I read that philosophy of public health practice with great suspicion - and whom ever the expect you chose to quote - the quote must be matched and proven by real word.
Reduces mortality ..... really
.. very few men die
because if prostate cancer. However, many men die
with prostate cancer.
But - you don't want a fk'ng maiignancy developing in your groin. And it migrates to the bone ... no place ... sitting, horizontal, standing ... no place without pain.
Testing is a baseline FOR YOU .. not the eggheads at HC or QPk .... $25.00 a year with your 'free' haha ACkU - if you can find a GP.
But, I digress
"...whereas there is evidence of harms." Can't argue with that as long as we acknowledge that the 'harms' are not from THE TEST, the harms are from
possible OVER REACTION to the test results. "Shucks Pop, you better get a biopsy" duh.
I had one SOB of infection 48 hours after the biopsy - thank God it was a Saturday not work day - and once again - the groin is a major 'switching yard'
for some pretty sensation stuff but infection travels fast.
My urologist's script had run out the day before and Saturday morning it was "this ain't good" haha. My family MD was available by phone, and he called in a renew.
But my juice stayed catsup for maybe a week. This being a case of daily checking the oil.
