For sure, and thanks for clarifying that. Just a few preemptive thoughts so we don’t go there!

We all started somewhere and most of us naive. I know I made my share of missteps on the road to a stronger place.

Thanks for sharing. If SPs are being extorted by TERB members we need to root out those members and expose them for the cowardly vermin they are.

This is about the credibility of the board and ourselves.

Preventative measure could be ...

1. Providers could become TERB members to report issues to the Mods and/or respond to negative reviews & put them in context.

2. Keep text and other communication as evidence. Forward to the Mods and/or to trusted TERB members such as Hughlongly

3. Hughlongly and others could receive reports, share intel, report the vermin to the mods, call them out, and crush them in their subterranean lairs before their venomous posts see the light of day. Confine the demon-spawn to the black pits of Arallû where they'll burn in eternal hellfire

I would like to contribute to this thread, though I'm not sure how to express my thoughts and observations. I've been a member for many years, I've seen lots of crap come and ago. Sadly, I don't contribute to reviews anymore and it's mostly because I don't want the unsavoury types stumbling across them. 'Extortion' is another word you can add to this thread.

Yeah, fake booking is definitely a form harassment, gross and unfortunately Ottawa has a bad reputation for it which hurts the market. I had to build up a lot of systems to avoid!

There are a few types doing this IMHO and experience. It’s pretty easy to see when it’s disgruntled dudes who just hate women, hate SWs in particular or have a personal beef because you blocked them or they hate your policies. I’ve gotten a boat load of these over the last eight years like all ladies but can spot the games pretty easily now and, like Sherlock, even know at times which naughty boy is writing me! When it’s a competitor they tend to be way less personal and aggressive, using techniques that waste more time or try to block your opportunity to book others. This is less common but also easy to spot with experience.

I rarely get either now due to the fact I block text Apps, have a great rolladex I’ve already gonzoed, check back channels and am not really the target anymore thanks to regulars and the ability to have less permeable policies. It’s like night and day from just five years ago but also took a LOT of effort! Many touring and new ladies are truly inundated and I feel for that having been there.

It’s not the topic of this thread though. And I really want to be attentive not to undermine that fellow SWs are here for ladies in need of help. I know most indie ladies are hugely supportive of other workers and would do a lot to help if asked. Competition is out, collaboration is in!!

This entire thing has really upset her and it upsets me and, I am heartened to see. that it upsets all of you too. It's wrong. There's no other way to put it. It's...WRONG.

She may contact you, she may not, but I will do my level best to make her feel comfortable enough to reach out to you. Getting her an account on here is also a really good idea. When all this went down, I did mention that she should post the screenshots here and at that time she was so freaked out and scared she wanted nothing to do with it. But....some time has passed. So we'll see how she feels. It IS extortion. And you know, Amanda Todd took her own life in 2012 because a monster was extorting her online and she couldn't see any way out. I have to wonder if this isn't a path to trafficking; extortion as a means of enslavement.

Hopefully whatever your friend decides, and taking the fight to them has its full range of merits and pitfalls depending on your outlook, but above all else what she received which shook her she will now reclaim her power. Regardless if she sees now as time to contact tremendous women such as @KittyCaterina and @Theredmilf or not if you share the overwhelming support your post has generated she will know there are strong ladies and other SP who will guide her, support her, and mentor whenever she desires.

I remember getting those texts a long time ago. I also remember a person who wasted my time for hours and made the mistake on their own and I could pull up the proof that the mistake was entirely on their end. They threatened me with TERB. Someone showed up an hour and a half late to the appointment they made with no text or phone call letting me know any details and then was furious I had left and continued on with my day.

I've received the texts you're talking about and they're bluffing. These review sites don't have as much pull as people think and clients from here don't equal better quality clients. I wasn't worried about it. They never made a review.

One piece of advice I can give is never announce that you are brand new to the industry. I have a good friend who works as a massage attendant. When she first started she would mention that she was new and a few clients tried to really push those boundaries.

Yes, that advice would paint a big X for any body. The best asset you can have is 'experience', on both sides. And the unwavering ability to walk away/refuse.

There are a ton of great and informative replies here. I have one thing to add. I’ve had this happen a couple of times, and one reassuring thing is that mods are pretty good at deleting obvious fake predatory reviews, especially if you have proof that they have threatened you.

If I was the escort, then I would report to LE that someone was trying to coerce and bully me into activity I don't want and threatening libble on review platform if I don't let him do these certain unwanted activity to me.

If the cops are willing, I would response and set a trap. Let the cops deal with this cyber bully.

This saddens me to read that ladies are treated this way. 100% it is each individual a-hole that does these shitty things to women who deserve blame and consequence (whatever that might be). But I cant help but think that it is society, through laws and stigmatization, that helped to create this a-holes.

As SW becomes more normalized and its legitimacy is recognized, these guys will be less and less, but it is the pioneers of recent years who continue to battle for this that gives us this hope. The fact that a SWer could choose (still not am easy choice mind you) to expose these crimes to LE us a step towards the right direction but one that still falls way short of the finish line. It warms me to know that ppl like Ruby offer meaningful support for their colleagues and that at least many on this board see the inhumanity behind these malicious attacks on woman.

I think the LE would just visit the individual and make it clear to back off. I don't think they would have the time to "set a trap", but with a phone #, they could pay a visit. Of course these types of individuals are probably life-long abusers and might be able to cover their tracks with phone aps. I guess I understand why a "trap" may have to be set. To my knowledge, the female is not breaking any law, but the hobbyist is, so easy and safe for them to contact 5-0.
