Once again we have a 'special interest' group telling us how to act, what to think, and inflicting their opinion and 'wants' on the rest of us. All these groups are so willing to stomp on our rights all the while demanding one thing or another and screaming when their rights are infringed upon. This time it's the Tamils but others are just as guilty.

By all means protest - that is a basic 'right' in a free society. But - DO NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER PEOPLES RIGHTS WHILE DOING SO!

If they are protesting the actions of the Sri Lankin government why are they outside the US consulate ? Makes little sense. Wouldn't it be nice if they protested outside Sid Ryans office intead ?

They should have been resticted to at least the sidewalk leaving the roadways clear for morning traffic. Once again INNOCENT people suffer at the hands of the few!!!!!!

The protest is also great resume fodder for the student organizers.

btw, and I mean no disrespect other than to my own ignorance, I saw Tiger flags being waved about at this event. I thought that the Tamil Tigers organization had been flagged as a terrorist group by the government (or at least, the CRA). If so, how are they able to demonstrate publicly?

you dont need to go to these protests to see that flag, drive around Scarborough sometime, plenty of cars with LTTE decals and window flags. Can you imagine what would happen if someone drove around with an Al Qaeda banner on their car

I actually passed by that area on the weekend. Remember Iraq. DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN SRI LANKA. We don't want any more shoes thrown at us as a token of their appreciation.
