Have any of you older guys here ever had prostate biopsy done? If so, how was your experience and how long were you off before you could monger again?

I have a friend who just had that. He said it was highly unpleasant. Ask your doctor how long you should wait before you start seeing SPs again. ;)

It was boring except drinking the stuff to cleanse you. Procedure is a non event and relatively painless. Monger same day for incall, or next day if you need to drive.

Just my experience. Others may be more sensitive like the friend in the post above.

Also, might be better to ask about having sex, rather than SP's buts that again is just my opinion.

That's amazing if you recovered so fast to monger that fast. About the driving - I assume it's about the effects of the sedatives. If you had the procedure in the morning, would they allow you to drive by say mid-late afternoon or early evening?

I think it would depend on if you were awake or out for the procedure...if you were out ? No driving for 24 hrs...awake?..depend on Pain threshold!

I had one 3 years ago this week. No big deal, as usual the prep work is the prep work when the Doc is going in top or bottom. A short fasting and whatever meds they give to flush you out. The procedure itself was nothing, awake and talking with the nurse while the Doc did his thing. All you really feel is some discomfort, stubbing a toe is far worse.. seriously. I was diagnosed with a level of cancer unusual for my age, then 63. I had brachytherapy and 15 external beam radiation treatments over a span of 3 or so weeks, nothing really to that either. As for a return to action, YMMV, probably not too long. If the Docs want you to do this...do it, don`t fuck around, this is important. If I`d given in to fear I`d likely be very sick as it spread or dead by now. I spoke to a neighbor who is a retired RN and she said you really don`t want to die like that, it`s only good advice if you listen. Take care of this.

You will need a ride to and from, I felt I was OK to drive but once again YMMV. Just take the day off. I`m sure you will be pissing and ejaculating some blood for a short while too, no big deal. And once again, don`t fuck around with this.

I think that blood in your semen is fairly common.

CIM? Probably not a good idea.

Blood in the urine can be scary, but if in otherwise good health, a few days...

What triggered the need for a biopsy?

Was it the PSA blood test?

There she goes!

Jerry Howarth retired from the Jays radio broadcast not long after his biopsy. He eventually had to have his prostate gland removed. Fortunately further biopsies revealed that the cancer had not spread, fortunately for Toronto, he's still with us.

Red Green is right about getting a prostate check: you're never to old to be smart.

Don't recall for sure but might have been around 5 and I'm 62
It`s often the rate of change that is concerning. Going from a 4 to 5 in several months deserves a look. My reading went from 4.3 to 7.3 in under 6 months.

I'm not sure why someone would piss or ejaculate blood. The colon is not connected to the penis. That's a sign of some other problem.
Please check your anatomy book. The prostate is not in the colon.

It is between the bladder and the urethra. 1692409498800.png

Does the blood in urine and semen make more sense now?
