I have had some luck playing proline with football ties. Usually play ten $2 tickets each Sunday. They usually pay $60-$80 each & I just need one to come through. I also include CFL games with NFL games as well.
Ties are tough to call, but if you bundle one or two with some strong favorites you can make a couple of bucks. Sometimes, I'll take a few favorites (3 or 4) and mix in some varying scenarios to play a 5 + game parlay at $2. The pay-off is pretty good and to me, is worth a gamble on $20 (10 tickets).
There were some swings in the lines from Saturday to today, notably, the Jets are now favored, Texans up to 9.5 (Oak has a rookie at QB) & the Cards have gone up to 9.5.
Some pics I am leaning towards...May change my mind come closer to game time...
* Jets -1.5: The Bills have lots of injuries and the Jets are coming off the bye
* Wash + 4.5: Philly stinks at home and Washington was embarrassed by the Eagles on the Monday night home opener. Revenge game?
* Bal +3: I'm not comfortable with either offense, but like the Ravens defense better. May be a good call for a tie (within 3). Note - Weather (high winds) may come into play
* Cincy -6.5: The Bengals are a different team at home, but the Browns have been playing good defense...Weather may play in here...
* Sea -13.5: The Seahawks have been dormant lately, time to break out of the slump
* Den -7.5: Broncos at home and the Chiefs finally play a strong team. I would like to see the Chiefs upset the Broncos (not a fan of Manning). This game will test how strong the KC defense is
* NE +1.5: Primetime, Brady, Dogs...I'll take NE over a still unproven Panther team (yes they beat SF last week, but SF was looking past them to the NO game)
Still Pondering...
* Tex -9.5: Oak has a rookie QB and there is a lot of emotion in Houston...
* TB +1: The Falcons are writing this season off
* Mia +3: After losing to the Bucs on Monday, time for them to regroup against a traveling Chargers team
* Det -3: A big step for the Lions to prove they are ready to take the division
* SF +4: Big game against NO. Leaning towards a field goal difference. SF's D vs NO's O
* GB +5.5: No matter who is at QB, I can't see the pack losing 3 straight
Good luck to all!
