I'm sure you would be offended if someone said Sony was high end audio.

I'd have to put kbears pics and some of the others in this thread in at least the league of nad, adcom, arcam, rotel etc. Possibly, the difference between an Audible Illusions preamp and a Hovland.

It's a tough call though, because depending on your view, professional audio equipment ( vs audiophile hi end ) doesn't necessarily always capture the essence and heart of the music although it can be very accurate and detailed.

I simply take offense when people loosely use the term "professional" photographer to describe what I consider to be weekend warrior types with their new digital cameras.
