I've experienced spectacular results. 95% regrowth. Hair stopped falling out after one month. Some regrowth after 3 months and noticeable regrowth after a year. Been taking it since 1998 and am 100% satisfied.

The results I have experienced are not typical. Most people experience some form of regrowth, but not to the extent I have.

I will chime in on the subject.

propecia seems to work for me, I have only been on it for 1.5 months. Alot less shedding, and my hair seems a bit fuller now. It is hard to tell because i still have decent amount of hair, but I think it is working.

I probally have the type of male balding that propecia is most effective in treating, thinning right around the back of the scalp. I heard propecia is not effective in treating a receeding hair line.

Anyways once my hair all grown back, I am gonna go nuts and do nutty stuff to my hair, color it, shave it at odd angles, all the stuff I should have done to it when i was younger but was too uptight to do.

Do you need a prescription for this stuff ?
Yes.

I just picked up a perscription today. Looking forward to trying it. My doctor said it is the only effective treatment. I'm only 32 and have been losing my hair very very slowly over the last 10 years so it should work well for me.

Anyone using it have any sexual side effects and how old are you? My doc said someone my age probably won't be affected.

I did noticed some side effects.

Now when i watch brokeback mountain, I get a boner.

Okay seriously, when you first start it your sex drive goes down, not an issue with getting it up but just lack of motivation for getting it up. After a week it all went away for me and I got back into the routine of 3 oil changes a day.

How long does 2 packs last? How long do you need to take it? And would my drug benifits at work cover this?

Apparently you can take it indefinelty but no drug plans cover it. My friend pulled out his drug plan card from work and it was not covered. The pharmacist said no plans cover it. The prescription was for 2 months only.

So you have to keep going back to the doctor to get a new prescription?
This would be my guess. These doctors just want see patients all the time to bill OHIP. That's how the system works. I have no clue if you can get an indefinite prescription. Any doctors in da house???

Not covered by drug plans.

I order 90 tablets of Proscar, the 5 mg version and cut it into quarters. Lasts me for a year. Must see a doctor to get a prescription. Doctors are quite liberal with refills. I don't ask for any more because I don't feel it's necessary to stockpile more than a year's supply.

The active ingredient, Finastride is turning out to be a wonder drug. In appropriate doses, it is a treatment for prostate problems, it lowers blood pressure, and professional atheletes use it to mask other drugs.

My pubic hair has been falling out gradually over the last little while. Does procepia work on crotch hair as well?

I tried to get that from my doctor for both Proscar and propecia today, and since I am not completely bald yet he didn't want to give me a presciption. He said it can affect the harmones and told me to try Rogain.

Is this harmful at all? I'm getting thin in the back of my scalp...I want to nip this in the bud before I go bald.

Find another doctor Rocket Man. If you experience any side effects, they are reversible once you stop taking the drug.

Oagre,

I doubt Propecia will solve your pubic hair problem. The style these days is to have it trimmed anyway, so you're already hip.

Oh yeah 1 thing about propecia which is deadly.

If you are around anyone who is pregnant, always wash your hands after handling propecia. it will cause birth defects. Having a full head of hair is one thing, but having a child born with birth defects for the sake of vanity is another.

I'm thinking about getting it too. Only thing is that I heard that if you stop using it, all the hair that regrew will fall out. Is this true?
