I'm looking into hiring one and am looking to chat with anyone who has any experience with them.Rates? types of information they can find out? etc.Things to look out for(every profession has bad apples I'm sure).PM if you wish.
Make sure you hire an investigator with credentials (associated with law firms) because there are bullshitters to gouged you and will ruin cases to do so.
$400 per hour for a good P.I.
Maybe he's worked with PIs farmed out by law firms charging Bay St. rates....I have never paid anywhere near $400 an hour, even for the very best of them. I have never chosen one by the electronics he owns.
I have not looked into it lately but there are limits, very strict limits, on how law firms can bill out disbursements in Ontario.Maybe he's worked with PIs farmed out by law firms charging Bay St. rates....
They can't charge a profit. But I'm thinking more along the lines of billing PIs as in-house staff. I work with a few firms that have PIs on staff; I'm not sure how they charge out.I have not looked into it lately but there are limits, very strict limits, on how law firms can bill out disbursements in Ontario.
Perhaps Doot will come back and tell us how he came to that number. I don't find it the least bit credible. They can't charge a profit. But I'm thinking more along the lines of billing PIs as in-house staff. I work with a few firms that have PIs on staff; I'm not sure how they charge out.
