There are a lot of things you can do yourself, it depends on what your circumstances are. Electronic surveillance devices are very expensive, but what do you thing a PI(g) will charge you if he has to buy, set up and maintain the equipment for you.

Did you try the usual like doing a search on Canada 411? YOu can do it for the whole country.

Or even googling their name.

Or - Ask your attorney for a referral, lawyers use them frequently.

The better ones are staffed with ex law enforcement and are pretty well connected. Don;t hire anybody that is not well connected to the legal system.
