What caused Bass to comment wasn't that he suddenly realized that gays exist in the world, or that some gay people are baseball fans, it was the realization that a gay group who openly mock the Catholic Church was going to benefit from an association with his sport.

I'll just set aside whether, in any event, there was anything wrong with the videos he posted. Does it really hurt the baseball business for players to think that a particular beer company is up to something that is bad for society? Or a single retailer?
