I do check out sherdog.
I just don't get involved in the forums; just like you said, "Too many assholes".
You don't know who is a real fighter and don't know who is a armchair fighter. Everybody has an opinion and everybody is ready to jump on that opinion. And that's when things get stupid and immature on the sherdog forum.
I just observe; don't want to get stressed because some jerk doesn't like me liking Sakuraba or not liking me for not liking capoeira.
The way I see it, everybody is entitled to their opinion as long as they back it up.

Manji, it's true that your ribs open up when you stick your elbows out. However, when I'm at my opponent's kick range, I usually slip the kicks than I would try to block. If I won't be able to block, I usually turn my back into the kick and fire right back, or leg catch if I definitely see the kick coming. Of course, I won't fight like this against every fighter.

hornydawg, there's so many ways to pass guard. Personally, I prefer trying to pin my opponent's leg to the ground using my knee before passing. Just remember to make it as uncomfortable for your opponent as possible. Your instructor will show you many more tricks than an internet forum. Especially one with this interest which I've found quite amusing getting into this conversation.

Also, I personally don't like sherdog. Too many nut-huggers and Rickson Gracie haters. Not skeptics, haters. You won't find me deifying Rickson or claiming that he is 400-0, but the man was good back in the days. When I checked out the Ask A Fighter section, posters there were giving posting fighters wicked BJs which rival those who post here. Sherdog has some nice vids, but subfighter.com supplies me with those.

I prefer bullshido.net. They may post rough, but as long as you don't come on as an idiot, you'll be accepted and most likely like it there.

I admit...sherdog can suck at times....just an interesting read at times....

alright, let's get down to business....who do you guys think will win in the Vitor Belfort vs. Randy Couture? I say couture will take it.

As for steroids in Bodybuilding...there would not be bodybuilding without steroids. Randleman's legs look a little like mine. It's from doing heavy squats and doing tons of juice, and being lean. Steroids raise your blood pressure, hence the veiny look. I was aware that josh was busted...however, there are drugs which are almost impossible to test for...INSULIN is one, yes, insulin.
It packs on weight like crazy and with the right diet, you can gain 20 pounds very quickly...insulin is a natural hormone in the body, so, it's hard to determine if someone is using it. It has actually been the drug that has pushed the sport in to the freaky looking monsters you see these days. Fina (trenbolone acetate) makes you gain very hard muscle and makes you VERY aggressive, that's what Barnett was busted for, eventhough Barnett looks like a lard ass, you can take the drug just for the aggressive properties.

that's my persepective. That's why I need to switch exclusively to MMA....it actually gets my aggression out appropriately, after class I'm drained, can't even drive home sometimes....hahaha

Rather than passing through the guard, I try to go around it. Grabbing the ankles or the legs and trying to swing his body to one side and then moving to the opposite side for a side mount.
Or if I'm feeling like Sakuraba, I'll go for the cartwheel or just try to hop over the guard.

hornydawg, what are the side effects of taking insulin?

Vitor vs Randy? I haven't seen enough of Vitor to make an educated guess so i'll just say Randy. He's been plowing through the UFC; so it is reasonable to guess that he will plow through Vitor.

yup..death and coma are the biggies, If it's not used correctly, I certainly will not discuss how it's used here. It is though, one of the biggest drugs that has hit body building, mainly because it is , at least in Canada, available over the counter...I'm not kidding. I really can't say more than that, I strongly warn anybody against using it, it is VERY dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. I mainly just posted that to illustrate how crazy you have to be to hit the pro ranks in BB....I think it's safer to have my face bashed in than to use the amount of drugs that you HAVE to use to get to the top...at least with fighting, the more you train, all things being equal...you have a chance to break plateaus and improve, well, in BB...it's more of a case of how much money you can spend on growth hormone. which is about 1200 bux for 2 months and you need to run it at least 6 months to see results, not mentioning a gram of test/day! oh...sorry if I hijacked the thread.....

Couture v Belfort? I haven't seen enough of Belfort as well, but knowing how Couture isn't showing huge signs of slowing down, I'll have to go with The Natural.
