Malcolm McLaren - Madame Butterfly (Un bel di Vedremo) (1984) I love the funky bass in this song, and this is one of the iconic videos from the period, and the rarely seen full version. I couldn't find a copy of this on YouTube, so I put it up.

The Selecter - On My Radio (1979) Pauline Black is the lead singer. They were a 2 Tone band from Coventry. A selecter is a DJ, in Jamaican slang.

The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - A Fairytale of New York (1987) Probably the greatest Christmas song ever. Kirsty was hit by a boat in Mexico and killed instantly in 2000.

I get around.
Yes that is a great song. I met Shane McGowan coming off a plane at Pearson airport - he was hammered, and had cigarette ashes clinging to a loose tie under his dirty jacket. There's no smoking on the plane or in the airport so how he had ashes on his tie was quite a mystery to me.

To lighten up the mood - this free download isn't 80s new wave but a new mashup of 80s action movie songs and is great for working out in the gym or running; part inspirational and part really funny and paced at around 60 cliches per minute :)
