It is silly to say everyone that posts on Backpage is posting fake pics. Many , such as ours , are clearly of girls pics taken in the incall locations.

i see a lot of strippers emerging on BP as well. it's obvious they're strippers from the locker room pictures. most are showing faces, and look so fucking delicious that i would eat out of their ass all day.

anyway, it's either a lot of girls are trying to save up for gifts, or the law has seriously hurt their livelihood from stripping and pushed them into this. if it's the latter, i genuinely feel bad for them.

This is why face pics are dangerous. http://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?507727-Sad-story

The young women posting on BP & agency/spa websites don't even realize the magnitude of what they are doing. And owners shouldn't allow it. That's my personal opinion.
NO. the stigma is dangerous, not the face pics. we should help remove this stigma associated with escorts. we should focus on the BENEFITS that these sex workers provide:

- giving companionship to a widower (so many stories of this!)
- keeping families together when men are in sexless marriages (either because of their partner's disability or whatever else) - i read about someone in this situation RIGHT HERE on terb!
- boosting the confidence of men that have otherwise struggled with women, allowing them to find a partner and enter happy relationships. so many men hold women at such a high pedestal that they can't approach them. escorts help them BREAK DOWN these difficulties. i'm not ashamed to admit that i was one of these guys. my ability to approach women and enter very fruitful relationships is directly attributable to escorts. it's not just sex. they genuinely inquired why i was seeing an escort when i was "good looking" and "successful" (their words; not trying to stroke my ego), helped improve my "skills", made me realize that yes women are just humans too, and gave me the confidence i needed to finally approach women
- many of us "treat" ourselves to escorts when we hit small routine goals. without this treat, it can severely hurt our motivation - which has a direct economic impact on my employees
- i'm sure for some men, escorts are the only way of gratifying themselves. yes, naysayers will argue that this would force them to go out and meet women. not true. some may have disabilities that prevents them from doing so. some may just not have the time. not being able to satisfy a basic human need for affection will just lead them to depression, or possibly sexual frustration that they take out in far worse acts

we need to APPLAUD the service that these women selflessly do. so many men that would otherwise be turned away by "regular" women are met without bias by these beautiful ladies. and they AREN'T taking the "easy way out" by becoming a sex worker when they openly welcome those with physical or mental difficulties without prejudice. every penny that they earn is hard work, and any difficulties imposed on them an absolute shame.

only when we focus on the benefits rather than the harm, will the stigma disappear, and women won't be so afraid to be labelled a "prostitute" when their face pics are out in the open.

Lol. Ummm do u read my posts? Read the link I posted, it's all about STIGMA. Sheesh. You don't need to preach to me sweetie, I was a sex worker. Keep up babes!

Until that stigma is gone, it's dangerous. Read the link. Perfect example of the harms of stigma. Hard to make a judgment call of that nature when a girl is 19 or 20 & putting face pics in escort ads. As an owner now, ive seen what the threat of outting, bf's that out a girl, love-sick clients, & crazy internet characters can do to people's lives because of the stigma. And a face pic or something that pinpoints the lady in question. Its heartbreaking.

Stigma is a big factor as you have stated, but we can't forget the role our families and the school system play in our development at an early age. We have to start by accepting that our families failec us. In large part because our parents parents failed them. Then we can start to break the cycle and fix the problem.

Good to see that you accept that there is a difference between sex workers and workers.

Pathetic people blame their parents, it just sets up the next generation, the circle.

We all have our own professional stigmas. Just ask Ben Edelman. :p

Settle down, Chomsky, this thread is about girls advertising on backpage ;)

I CHOOSE to stay away from Reader's Digest, Globe and Mail op-ed pieces and what people on the subway or in a line somewhere have to say (thanks, headphones and my effortless glare :thumb: ), don't take that from me :p

Back to the topic!

I've noticed that advertisers are advertising their location at a much higher/generic level.

Where it used to say "Oshawa, Harmony/401" now it just says "Oshawa" or, even worse "Durham". It drives me crazy because I can't go too far during the day for these things since I'm ditching work to do it. I need to know if you're close to me. Guess I've got to change my browsing strategy.

Also have noticed that there's a growing number of "No text" ads. Not sure why, exactly. I could just as easily be a cop over the phone as I am over text, but whatever.

As long as you are consistent, I have no problem. When the gums are flappin for your personal cause, I take issue.

Just like in accounting, out by $.01 could be out by $1000.00. Maybe it is the principal.

You were an MPA. Muses are MPAs. Not sex workers per se. (Even though the Fed Cons might lump you in that 'sex worker' group, which is probably what you meant).

because some bitches be crazy... and book the time of their competition to mess with them. Sad but true. A voice call at least reduces that risk somewhat.
Amazing but not surprised that it might happen.

You should be a paid mentor to inexperienced SPs.

Yes I was. And that my dear is a sex worker. I certainly didn't sit at a desk all day. The cons didn't title my profession, I did. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't identify as that. I see no better-than between different areas of sex work. The services I provided, the experiences I had, the good & the bad were the same as any dancer or escort or dom. Regardless of what sector, it's still sex work. Its still challenging, stigmatized, and back in my day, very dangerous. Anyone who was a reg @ Studio B can attest to that!

I feel text can be traced.
When you call a lady the LE are not going to wire tap, every bloody line. Come on.
This is right what Jessica says here. I always want to speak with the lady on the phone anyway before I go over to her hotel or apt. So if the number is on your phone. No proof of what you said if you call. But text is a sure way to get busted.
And most ladies want you to call them anyway, after a text, if your new to them. They have to feel safe as well.

There is no way in hell they will wire tap everyone's phone. Too expensive and way too much work.
Going back to the old way and calling seems more safe for these times now with C-36

That was my other suspicion. I'd like to think that LE is more likely to just do a sting and catch you in the act as opposed to obtaining a warranty for your text message records, but who the hell knows?

Exactly! Just as bad to blame any one for the choices you make.

The blame belongs only to the one tht made the choice. Every choice whether good or bad will have a consequence. That is being a grown up.
